Since 1943, the Assam Rifles Kukri Knife has been made by one government contractor and is issued to Gurkha’s Assam Rifles Regiment in India. This original, official military issue knife has a 13 1/2” blade, hand-forged from high carbon steel, and it’s double-fullered. It also features the traditional religious notch symbolic of the trident of Shiva and, at a little over 1/4” thick, this is a very powerful chopping blade. The polished, hardwood handle is reinforced by a brass bolster and a brass pommel with a raised lion’s head decoration. The 18” overall kukri knife comes with a regulation, genuine leather belt sheath with a brass tip.
