A cheap but not cheaply made little knife. Perfect for kitchen cutting tasks. I will be adding more as soon as possible for my kitchen activities.

For the money, can’t beat’m. Purchased several of these when they were $3.95, list one of them, gave two away, only have two remaining now. I see they are $3.95 again, think I’ll order five more again. Can’t have too many of these. They do qualify as a knife, and a knife is what you’ll get if you purchase a few! Work them hard, you’ll be happy with them..

A good cheep knife. I keep one in the car, my fishing box, camping gear, and just about everywhere I tend to need a knife. They won’t be your favorite or best knife but they’re cheep enough to abuse, lose, and give away.

Unbelievable sharp knife for the money. Great to have in the sheath when in the kitchen drawer (for safety)(grandkids). You definitely will use it with its sharpness to cut vegetables and meat. Glad I bought 4 of them when they were on sale! I use in kitchen, but can see how good it would work in the field.

I did not expect a knife that would be much.. I was wrong.. Not only do these things hold an edge, they are solid made for the price. I use them a LOT for filleting fish of all things. I also have them in my truck, my tractor and toolboxes and I have yet to break one. For this price, you can't get a better deal or knife.

Good review after good review? Well, they are actually true. I skeptically bought this because it was cheap. Well, I am back to buy more! This is a nice, thick blade and it holds an edge well. I use it for just about anything around the house (cardboard boxes, opening packages, threatening my dog (just kidding!!!)) and it is amazing! Because it was a cheap knife, I am not afraid to use it, I am not afraid of sharpening it, and because of that makes it a great buy.

These are from Mora. They make many for other retailers. High carbon steel, they will rust if not coated with light oil. Sharpen easily and hold an edge. Great little utility knives. For $2, you cant go wrong with these!!

This knife rocks for a Chinese product. It's almost as good as my $ 15.00 Morakniv. I love the rubber handle !

Could be better. For the price its not a bad little knife for the price. You get what you pay for, so, it's not Top Shelf, but your not looking for that if you only want to pay a few bucks for a knife. Its the kind of knife you get to do the job, but don't care if it breaks or you lose it. The scabbard/sheath sucks though.

I have a few of these knives and they are in every vehicle and pack. I actually use them more often than I thought I would. I purchased 6 of these to use as steak knives after I noticed that thought in another review. They work great for that too!

How could I go wrong...? Just by looking I could see they were worth $2.99 ea. I was not disappointed by the physical quality. Sharp, good gripping handle. Ran mine thru the ceramic discs to fine tune the already sharp SS blade. Useful in the kitchen....slicing & dicing fruits/veggies. Took apart some back ribs w/no hesitation. Should gut fresh fish w/ease. Gave 3 to friends....sharing a sweet deal. Check the identical knife w/Carbon Steel blade for only $4.99 ea......bought 2 of those also. Chinese but expected so @ this price point. Plastic sheath fits snug. Well done......

This is as perfect a knife as you can find. Just right for demonstrating how to sharpen a pocketknife, with Cub Scouts. It's already razor-sharp, so I just honed the edge a wee bit. Feels good in your hand, as though it was made to fit.

Bought 1 as afterthought to fill an order. Put it in my tackle box as a standby now It's the one I grab first, if you see the longer one or the set buy them they are a great set as long as you don't cut bait on a rock or concrete the edges hold up exceptionaly well Now have one in each of my Jeeps and my truck!

I love this knife because the versatility can't be beat for the price. I plan on buying several more for my bug out bags and for friends. I'm keeping my eye out for Bogo deal with this product. I buy from BUDK nearly every month and have been impressed with the overall quality to cost ratio. I have not found a comparable online retailer. Thanks for the great product's and exceptional service!

It's a knife, just as described. It cuts things. It has a sharp point so you can poke things with it too. I poked a potato with it and then cut the potato. I imagine you can poke and cut many things with this because it is a knife.. I would include a list of all the things I have poked and cut with this knife but I don't have time. Too many things to poke and cut right now.

You WILL NOT find a more rugged, more balanced cutting tool for 7....8 times the price of this all-purpose knife/sheath combo! I have every color for different uses-several of each, in fact. The blue-handled are the only ones that say Wahoo Killer on the blade, if that matters at all. G2G little toss-ins that won't break your heart (or wallet) should you happen to have a mishap on the lake and lose it...keep three backups at this price! Through 10+, blades are extremely consistent in thickness and balance, with only slightly varying degrees of sharpness throughout. The first one tricked me into slicing my fingertip pretty "good"; all came sharp to VERY sharp, and all with excellent tips. Slight machine marks on the blade of one in OD handle...it's my favorite.

I ordered 3 of these thinking that for only 2 dollars when it goes dull just throw it away! Gave 2 away to hunting friends. They love them and have skinned several deer and hogs with them. Still sharp! They thought they were expensive knives too! I ordered 8 more and put in my SHTF gear and bug out bags. I have skinned coons, deer and etc... and they retain a sharp edge. I cannot believe them for the price. Great grip and blade.

I bought one for my bug-out bag and wound up using it when we slaughtered our pigs and several of our goats. I've pried hip sockets out and separated vertebrae with this knife and boy can it take the abuse! The sheath is handy when you're working on a hanging piece of meat like when we do our rabbits. The only complaint from me is that it's a little difficult to put a long-lasting edge on these....but when you do, you're in business! I got on the Bud-K site today to buy a few more! My boys know when I say, "Get Mama's Wahoo," they know something's about to be parted out.

I ordered a couple of these to see if they were anything like the Mora Companion, since I have a few of those and have liked their value and performance. Seriously, even if it was a dud, it was $2 and I was making an order with free shipping so, what the hell?! I gotta tell you; they aren't a Mora, but they are probably one of the better bargains on this website and easily worth the $20 I would expect to pay for a Mora in a local retailer! Not as sharp as a true Mora because they are not actually a Scandinavian grind but really have a beveled edge. That being said, they sharpen easily with the Smith diamond stick I keep in my outdoor gear bag, hold the edge fairly well and the rubber grip really sticks in the hand! If you have bigger hands, just a heads up, they are more narrow than a Mora in the grip, but I put a couple pieces of bike inner tube on it and it filled right up with the added bonus of the rubber grip really holds onto the inner tube, so I have some fishing line wrapped around inside of their for survival use. The sheath is a pretty close copy of the Mora, so I used a dremel to groove down the spine of the sheath and epoxied a ferro rod in there for additional utility. These are great B.O.B. knives for camp chores and such, weight is practically nothing and you can hook it on your pants pocket if you're not wearing a belt. I am now making myself a kydex sheath for mine that will increase their carry options and utility by putting other camping or survival items on it and plan to order one of these for everyone in my family and for each vehicle as well. At $2, where can you go wrong? Seriously, worth the money even if you just need it as a beater tackle box knife!

It is almost stupid how good a value these knives are. Are they a connosseur's choice? Of course not. The best metal? No. Solid and sharp enough out of the box to have a couple stashed in the car or boat for quick use when needed? Absolutely. And what's the price? Oh yeah $1.99! ARE YOU KIDDING? Geez, throw a couple in your cart with every purchase. Or just wait for the free shipping and get a decent knife practically free.

Best $2 knife I've ever bought! Bought several of them to try. They work as good as any other $2 knife. I will buy more again sometime, but first I've got to wear these out (or loose them).

One a 5 acre homestead, these things are a no-brainer. I have bought a dozen or so of these and have some assigned for tasks around the property. One is my gardening knife, great for pruning veggie plants, cutting twine, trimming small branches, or cutting out weeds. I have one delegated to the task of processing rabbits, and it handles all steps with ease. I am so impressed with these knives I bought some to give away, and have a sufficient stash to use for a few years. The edge comes decent, but does require a little work to be "razor sharp". Buy one, buy 20, you won't be disappointed.

Figuring that there could not be much to one of these Wahoo Killers I decided to see what they are made from. I figured I would smack the handle with a hammer and it would shatter. That didn't work! It took the vise and a hacksaw and a good bit of work to separate blade from handle. I bought a half dozen and I know about a dozen folks that bought their own half dozen after seeing what it took for me to tear one up. You keep selling them for $1.99 and we will buy as many as you can ship.

Might as well add my compliments to all the other folks, because the positive reviews convinced me to try knife. At $2, I figured it wasn't much of a risk. Blade came sharp, but I wanted a better edge. Sharpening a knife tells you a lot about the quality of steel and utility you can expect. I was shocked at the quality of the steel, and the edge I was able to achieve without a great deal of effort. Got 5 knives- putting them in my boats, tackle boxes and at least one in the kitchen drawer where it will do yeoman duty for a good while. Going to get more. Thinking of taking a Dremel tool and cutting a groove in one of the plastic sheaths to expose a little of the edge and be able to use it as a line cutter when fishing (ok- so I'm lazy). Sheath could use a deeper clip, but this is a minor issue, and can be gotten around with a little work, where needed. This is one of the best bargains in your catalogue! Thanks CHK!

Came back to buy more. Assuming they're still essentially the same, with the changes to the grip and scabbard noted, I liked these knives. I used them fishing and crabbing and in the kitchen. I bought several and gave away several.
May 30, 2016
(5 out of 5)
Nice medium-thick blade was sharp out of the box. Handle is comfortable and offers a secure grip, might be a bit small for average to large hands. Hard plastic sheath gives a secure hold when the knife is seated firmly. I could see it filleting a fish or cleaning small game, making kindling, or other light duties but splitting firewood like in the description might be a bit too much to ask. I bought a couple just based on the price, and I'll be buying more to stash wherever I'd want a sturdy, serviceable knife that won't break my heart if I lose it.

Good knife for $10. Amazing knife for $2. No brainer. There is no way you won't get your 2 bucks worth, whether or not you fish. Just add it to your order and thank me when it shows up with your other stuff. Simple.

I bought one of these to compare to my Mora Companion, because it's clearly a copy. I thought it would be good for a laugh. Fact is, the knife's not all that hilarious... The proportions are similar, with the Mora having a slight drop to the blade, and the Wahoo having a flat top. The sheath and clip on the Wahoo are similar to the Mora style, and the blade-release feels about the same. The edge was rough, but cleaned up easily. Looks like about 2mm wide. The Mora's 2.5mm. The handle is not checkered as described, but a rubberized wave-pattern that's pretty deep, and grips nicely. I'll be ordering more of these. Great utility knives. $2. yep

Decided to take a shot and bought a bunch of these. The blade is actually very sharp out of the packaging and hones quickly. Plastic sheath but the knife locks into it securely enough. Kept one for myself and gave the rest away to friends and family who were all very impressed with them. Much better knife than the price point suggests.

I bought some of these knives a while back and waited before I wrote a review. I told my wife that I would wait to dress out and cut up an entire deer with one before I did a review. Well, this morning I shot a doe. the only knife that I used was a Wahoo Killer. I did have to put a better edge on it than what it came with but, that was nothing. After dressing and skinning out the entire deer the knife still has enough edge to cut up the meat tomorrow when I finish processing it. So, that is about as good a review as I can give for an "inexpensive" knife. Buy yourself a half dozen or more. You won't regret it. Al

I've bought a lot of these Wahoo Killer knives, in several lots over the months. This latest bunch continues to be better than could be reasonably expected for $1.99 each. I order another bunch whenever "free shipping / no minimum order" sale occurs. I use these myself camping, boating, fishing, hunting, kitchen prep, and ordinary chores. I give away a lot of them to friends and family. Everyone likes them. The thermoplastic sheaths are good, although the belt clip could be improved to fit wider belts and hold more securely. The handles and balance are good. The blades are sharp and hold an edge reasonably well, and resharpen easily. Obviously not quite as good as the Mora Companion knives they seem to be a clone of, but excellent for the price. Perfect for use when you don't want to risk your expensive knives. When I drop one of these in the lake, or a loaner never finds it's way home, my wallet doesn't cringe !

I ordered half a dozen they were all sharp and straight right out of the box, these will be in the stockings of my buds on Christmas great EDC tool, good for the Tool or Tackle Box, not too big for detailed jobs you can fillet a perch or use as a skinner, there is no end to a good knife like this, I just can not believe how affordable they are looks and feels like a more expensive knife, Thanks for these!

I recently received two of these in my order, and they are not only cheap, but they are extremely sharp out of the box! I did a test on my leg to see if it could cut hair well, and it not only completely shaved hair off that area, it cut pretty deep into my skin too. I nearly got infected because of this knife. Anyways, 5/5 because of how affordable they are, their comfortable handles, and how insanely sharp they are. Also, please don't be as reckless as me and try and shave both of your legs with this knife.

I received my knife the other day and for $1.99, its pretty good. The handle it comfortable and the texture keeps it from slipping when wet. The blade seems to be decent quality and feels sturdy. My knife arrived with several stains and spots on the blade but for the price I'm not complaining. The sheath is good quality and has great retention so the knife will never fall out. Overall, its a great deal for the price.

I had 4 of these Wahoo Killer Knives from the past that performed well. I bought 10 more to give to friends. Same excellent quality as the last bunch, for $2.50 each including discounted shipping. A very good inexpensive Chinese clone of Mora Companion Swedish knives. Obviously not quite as good as Mora, but for the money, far better than expected. Arrived reasonably sharp, razor sharpened easily with ceramic rod sharpener.Whittled some hickory hardwood to test edge holding, held it's edge as well as many other more expensive knives and resharpened easily. Light weight for hikers. Good grip. Sturdy. Thermoplastic Sheath holds knife firmly. Watch for frequent low cost shipping offers from Budk to keep the cost near $1.99 each. I'm pleased. I'd recommend these where you don't want to abuse or lose expensive knives, and for decent loaners and gifts.

I bought my wahoo killer months ago pretty much based on reviews Here and elsewhere. And yes because it was two dollars. Nothing about this knife says two dollars. Strong blade that can take abuse and a sharpen back nicely. A friend of mine spent a whole fishing trip cutting bait on rocks running the blade across the rocks. I know genius. It got to where you couldn't cut raw shrimp it was so dull. But after some time sharpening, it was back to a sharp edge. Mine works great to make sparks for fire as well. Ordering two more.

I own several of these and regularly use them. Very sharp and easy to keep that way. Better than knives that cost 10 times the amount. I keep one in every car, in my tool box, in the kitchen drawer, and tackle box. I use them in the garden as well.

This is a totally awsome knife and the price is unbelievable. Used it to clean fresh caught catfish which puts any knife to the test and it worked great, I bought another after finding out how good it was.

This is exactly the reason that Chinese production stomps American industrial effort. These things are quality knives that would demand a much higher price if they were made here. If you find a better knife for this price.. it might just be stolen.

when I purchased a three pack of these little beauties last Christmas I wasn't sure what to expect. I mean they are so inexpensive. Get them with free shipping and it's even better. I was thinking bait, filet or camp knife and the Wahoo is certainly all that. With it's hard sheath that retains the knife very well it is great for the backpack or picnic basket. But were it has really shined is in the kitchen. Whether it's meat, cheese, fruit or vegetables the Wahoo has become our go to knife. It can cut and slice anything for food prep, never seems to dull and has that great rubber no slip grip. My advice? Give them as gifts (first to yourself) and then everyone on your list. They will think you paid way more and you will be giving them something wonderfully practical too. Another great product Budk!

I have 30 or 35 different types of knives, but I use these knives everyday. At $2.00 each, I can afford to keep one in every tool box, every glove compartment, hunting pack, tackle box, on each vest/life-jacket and several in the kitchen. Where this knife sets itself apart is when I'm butchering a deer because it makes easy turns, it also cuts straight, and it holds a great edge. The sheath holds its shape so I don't have to use 2 hands to stow the knife. I have bought roughly 25 of these knives (for myself, for my family & for my friends) from Bud K and the service and shipping is always top-notch! I've kept one outdoors for 8 or 9 years and there is no rust on it! Thanks Bud K!

I picked up 4 of these and may get more. Came sharp, good sheath, and a nice feel. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that it did not say wahoo killer with the fish it says delta defender and was odd color instead of blue but who cares awesome knives thanks budk.

As others have said this is not a fillet knife but one heck of a utility knife. I ordered two, one for my Bug Out Bag and one to keep on me. I couldn't believe how well this knife is made and for 2 bucks why not order two or more. The sheath is awesome and really holds the knife in I tried to shake it out and couldn't with out throwing my arm out!!! WOW! I did have to work to get a good edge but now they both are good and sharp. If you are waiting to buy one don't wait buy two or more. GREAT KNIFE!! WOW!! Thanks BudK!!

This knife is great! Right out of the box it came real sharp, I sharpened it even more. So now it is razor sharp! It shaves the hairs of my arm so I'd say that is pretty good for something you get for $1.99. Also and anyone who would be buying this to be a fillet knife it is a great knife, but not a good fillet knife the blade needs to be way thinner! The sheath is build good it has a nice drain hole so the water runs out. I bought three I wouldn't mind buying ten more and I just may sometime soon. Thanks BUDK!!!

Not the best fillet knife (the blade is a little stiff) but my # 1 choice for a utility knife. Great grip, well made blade that holds a very very sharp edge, comfortable to work with all day without undue fatigue, due to the superbly ergonomic grip and stiff blade. Very well made sheath... I cannot find a thing wrong with this knife ... and for 2 bucks, i'll be buying them till BUDK sells out of them. Nice work BUDK!!!!

This knife is a super deal due to its price and quality. After receiving this knife I ordered more to give as gifts. With the stainless steel blade and rubber sure grip handle it is an ideal bait knife for a catfishing fellow like me. Thank you BUDK for offering such a quality knife at a bargain basement price!

I got my first shipment in and then ordered a second. The handle fits good in the hand. The point could be narrower, but if are on a boat you don't want to accidently prick yourself while gutting a fish. It seems sturdy. The blade has a good thickness for the price. The wife likes the orange one for the gear box on her boat. I plan to give these knives to the sport fishing men and women in my wife's family along with my nephew the free-spirit sailboater. It is a good general purpose knife.

I threw this in with my latest order simply because it was soooo cheap. I assumed it would be useless junk that I would just use to practice sharpening techniques. It is surprisingly useful. The steal is obviously very cheap and the factory edge had lots of blemishes but I cleaned it up and its not bad. Its basically a cheap knock-off of a Mora but for a $1.99 it really isn't bad. It fits the sheath well and its very secure. I wouldn't count on it as a primary knife but Will be good to have as a backup with fishing gear or just in a utility drawer at home. If they are still selling this so cheap when I make another order, I might buy a couple of them.

I don't know why people keep referring to this as a fillet knife. It's blade is not flexible enough for that. It should be referred to as a dive knife, as it's well suited for that. It has a stout stainless blade and takes a decent edge. The sheath holds it well enough that it won't fall out and has a drain hole. I'm going to add straps to it to hold it to my leg. I drilled a hole in the blue part of the handle butt and added a lanyard. Then I used a chain saw file and cut serrations into the last half of the blade edge. This is now an excellent dive knife that will cut through any rope or netting I might get tangled in. I only bought three originally and with the free shipping it was almost like getting them for free. YOU CAN'T MAKE A KNIFE ON YOUR OWN LIKE THIS FOR $1.99! The non slip handle is very ergonomic and fits my hand well. All factory knives come with a machine cut factory edge. While it may appear sharp it won't last. Judging a factory knife by it's sharpness upon receipt is just wrong. A knife should be judged on it's construction and usability. If you don't know how to sharpen a knife or just don't want to, don't give a knife less stars just because it's not razor sharp. For $1.99 this is an excellent knife and will sharpen to a decent usable edge. I plan on getting several more when free shipping comes up again. Don't do as several of us have already done and not get enough of them. You'll never regret having too many of these handy knives. They are just that good!

I like it, but mine came with a cut on the rubber handle, likely caused by the sharp edge of the hard plastic sheath. I even like the sheath, but you may want to file the edge down a bit if it seems sharp.

These are pretty good in general for a stainless steel knife. As others have said, they are a China knock off of a Mora. The key phrase here is "knock off". I don't really like SS for knives, but it does have its place. This has become my go to kitchen knife and actually is better than the $8.00 Old Hickory paring knife I ordered. I would have given this a 5 star if it had been sharper out of the box. It also is not easy to get an edge on it, but once there, it does hold pretty well. I got them at 3 for $3.99 and see they've raised a dollar since. Even at $4.99 for 3, they are not a bad deal. I've paid more for worse. Bottom line: No they are not Mora quality, but also not Mora priced. If I lost one of these, I wouldn't all that bad. I have one in the shop and one in the kitchen and intend to put the other in my tackle box for a bait knife. I will be ordering a set or two with every BudK order for awhile. Can't beat em for the price. Oh yeah, my 18 yr old son uses the kitchen one all the time and hasn't killed it yet. That speaks of its durability to me.

I read the reviews here on Budk, and watched the you tube videos, so I figured, for the price of one Mora Clipper, I could get 9 of these shipped, and I could put one in each car, my bug out bag, shooting bag etc. as well as give many away. When they arrived I can say that I was very impressed. These didn't come very sharp, but they don't have a crazy grind that you need to learn how to sharpen, and in about fifteen strokes on my kitchen sharpening rod, I had my first knife shaving sharp (took the hair off of my knuckles).

At $2 these really aren't that bad of a deal. They are cheep knives and that's what your getting. Anyone comparing these to a Mora in anything other then appearance needs their head checked however. I ordered 16 and not one had a blade ground evenly on both sides. They are sharp, they are functional, but a Mora is a blade that will last a lifetime. These will need a lot of work the first time they are resharpened just to put on a proper blade profile.
