The cane is extremely sturdy but not too heavy. I have several other canes from other manufacturers that while sturdy do have some flex. That is not the case with this cane. I was concerned about the tip not being rubber but it has been "grippy" enough to present no problems.

Read the reviews first...
The cane itself is very effective in it's use. However the main issue I have with it is that the tip of the cane is definitely NOT rubber. It's plastic. My buddy I bought it for had a couple of close calls before we were able to get a rubber tip that fit. Other than that the cane is a good buy. Hoping it never needs to be used for protection, but if it is I'm confident in it's durability.

Get a new tip that's really rubber
It's a great cane: sturdy without being heavy. I haven't had to use it in self-defense yet, but it's hefty enough for the job.
Note, however, that the other reviewers are right about the tip. It is plastic, so you'll need to replace it with a tip that's actually rubber. My local pharmacy didn't have a 1 inch tip, so I had to order one from Amazon. I was initially worried about how well the new tip would stay on the cane since the original was held on with a screw, and the new tip wasn't set up for that. However, I needn't have worried. The new tip slid on securely, and when I pulled it off to check how well it stayed on, it came off with an audible "pop". Pushing the snug-fitting tip onto the cane created a good seal that should keep it on for years.
Definitely worth the price. I don't know why I waited so long before buying it.

A bit uncomfortable grab Barn a solid biuy
This is a solid self-defense cane and great option for people who live in states where you’re not allowed to carry swordcanes. A lot of other reviews complain about the grip at the bottom but I found that it only slips on hardwood, laminate or anything that you could generally slide on in just socks. The grip is not nearly as comfortable as it could be and does kind of hurt my wrist with extended use but if you’re not fully in need of a cane to walk this is a good buy and great for self-defense. I live in a dangerous neighborhood and I’d rather walk with this and a bit of uncomfort than an old grandpa cane and look like easy pickins’.
Just The site of this tells people you going to put up a fight if they try to mess with you… nine out of 10 times criminals take the path of least resistance and will move onto easier prey

Solid, works well
I had gotten one of those "aiGear Premium Walking Sticks" from Amazon, really nicely CNC'd and made up of sections, each one with a different tool or weapon. I'm 6'3", so the ability to add a section for extra length sounded appealing. Well, it is well made, but much better in theory than reality - it's heavy, it's 'clang-y' and cold being aluminum, it's kinda threatening and it's a bit unwieldy. I've hardly used it, and getting to the various self-defense tools in a hurry - forget about it.
So I got one of these, and it's actually just about ideal. The length is enough, the material is strong yet not cold or metallic-clang-y, and it just feels good. As a cane, this is far superior, and recommended.

warning about the warning
you WILL NOT get a 3/4th rubber tip on this cane. if you do, you will see why it won't last. i highly siggest getting a standard cane grip or a 1" grip and filling any space with gripping agent like tape or glue. cutting the soft rubber off wont be a problem after. otherwise still a good buy, the handhold is very rough though, so expect calluses if you dont already have them in the same spots.

WARNING!
If you need an actual walking can YOU WILL need to change the tip to a RUBBER tip. This tip on the cane is PLASTIC and will slip on a smooth surface and especially on a wet surface. Just unscrew the tip and replace it with 3/4 Inch RUBBER tip; other that this problem the cane is AWESOME.

Very nice!
Feels very solid, and the only joint is where the end cap is screwed on. Which means no where for water, sweat, or blood to get in and ruin it.
Only complaint is that it feels about .5-1 inch short. I'd definitely buy another, if needed!

Best value
This thing is just perfect. The construction feels even more solid than similar United and Cold Steel products, which are plenty durable already. The head shape is easier to actually use as a cane, while the points make it more viable as a self defense tool and requires much less strength to do damage. It's also half the price of the next best defense cane! The only downside is the ridged texture that could wear on your hands if you swing it around a lot. I reccomend this to anybody, whether you need a cane to walk or not.

Exactly what I hoped for
What Can I say? It is a big honking piece of injection molded plastic.Very thick (that's a plus) stylish (for plastic defense staff, tactical looking) Appears very strong (plus) And the handle I have no doubt could easily double as a glass breaker. So to summarize! Once you resign yourself to the long A__ wait for the bicycle to deliver it you will be very happy I am sure

Nice Cane
I wanted a new cane as I am disabled and like variety. My favorite is the C.S. polypropylene dragon. But at times it is too heavy to carry. I am a large man and need a solid, unbreakable cane. When I saw this at BudK at such a steal, I ordered it right away when it came into stock. It is light and small in the hand but very strong. Just the thing.
I would caution you the cane tip is useless. When it arrived I put it on my hardwood floor and leaned on it to see if it would slip and it sure did!. I unscrewed the tip only to find the tip was barely held on by the very tip of the screw. The good news is that a regular rubber cane tip, available at any pharmacy, fits fine. A new longer screw and I have a keeper. I cannot recommend this cane enough. It is a tough cane you will have for decades.
