Fatal flaw
Out of the box I loved the knife....the problem is the retention in the sheath. After about 6 months it would nod hold the blade locked in place anymore making it useless to carry vertically. It now sits in the scrapheap of knives I use to carry.

Perfect
It was smaller than expected but it’s actually perfect size for a lanyard under your shirt , not bulky. It’s my EDC I love it. Also I tried it laced in my combat boots . You can loop it through the laces and keep it concealed easily.
Seems durable and blade came sharp. Overall impressed .
Thank you Bud K and Combat Commander . Amazing customer service and products guys! Also, thanks for hooking it up in my box with freaking 3 extra knives ! You guys rule !

Great backup
I ordered one for my daughter for concealed protection and after getting it in and giving it to her, I ordered one for my self. It laced up nicely in my work boots and only I know it’s there and will be good back up “just in case”.

Great Little Knife
This is a great boot knife. I have it laced into my combat boots. Now no matter what I'm doing I'll always have a knife on me!

Love this lil cutie
Perfect knife for neck or boot! hard to find a knife that can double so eaisly and so well, very satisfied with what i got! little smaller than how the image shows and the serrated portion is a little small but hey, its supposed to be for concealment. Love it, perfect size and great quality.

I read a lot of reviews on this knife so I bought one and the only complaint I have is it came with an edge on it but was not sharp enough to cut paper. I cant complain about having to sharpen a brand new knife considering the price. but other than that its small and cant even feel itsw laced into your boots.

Little Gem
I have bought other boot knives that are more like full size weapons. This little beauty is perfect. Not only is it small enough to wear on your boot, the sheath gets attached to the boot with the laces! This allows the knife to be pulled out of the sheath, which is just not true with many other boot knives. I bought three and only gave one as a gift because I like it so much I kept the other two.

Sub commander boot knife
This is a great little knife! It was a little dull out of the box, but its easy to sharpen and is always with me. I've bought many things from Budk.com before, and I plan to get even more in the future!

Mini Boot Knife
This boot knife is perfect! It is not to small, and is comfortable to where you don't realize it is there when you walk. I do a lot of RV'ing, and my neighboring RVer's that have seen it have loved it and have asked where I got it. It is great to start conversations and get new friends in the RV community. Plus it is is hidden for those rough spots that are not as friendly as an RV park. I love this little knife. It is comfortable, sturdy, and very handy. Plus it is hidden well with my boots and jeans. Thank you BUD-K!

I love this thing.
Just got this knife today, and all I can say is "Wow!". I love this thing. It's small, compact, and tied easily to my boots. It's everything the synopsis and blog showed. Didn't come as sharp as I like, but nothing a few minutes on the sharpening stone didn't fix. Thanks budk!

I just got it today which took about a week shipping time. I must say like it! My only problem was that my boots were too small or in other words not up to the knee high enough to wear this comfortably. Either than that, This boot knife is awesome! good quality grip, blade, and sheathe seriously! I bought this with the silver version as well to create a "yin-yang" effect. The silver blade is nice but if I had to choose and compare; this black version is better. The silver version is just a double edged sharp knife while as the black one has a mini saw like feature on one side and a sharp regular blade on the other. Anyway, I like both and these are awesome buys. I recommend it _:)

Ok when you first get the knife, the sheath it comes in is nice, plastic so you dont gotta worry about it being cut open. and it comes with a sting so you can wear it as a necklace. witch is cool but when its hanging upside down it can fall out pretty easily.(i just wraped the string around the bottom of the sheath to hold the knife in and it worked pretty good) but without a doubt stick it in the laces of your boot. looks cooler, and is more efficient. your ever in trouble a quick stab to the side of the neck with this baby will take care of it. it came really sharp witch im always happy to see to.

Follow up review from 2019
I purchased this knife a couple of years ago for work. The knife itself has been great but the sheath (which I keep laced on my boots) not so much. It doesn’t retain the knife and it has come off and dropped while running or walking fast. I keep my boot laces around the handle to keep it from falling out but I’ll have to figure something out so that I can deploy fast enough if need be. Still a great knife but this would be my only concern.

Very nice, beware can come loose
Very nice, bigger then I thought but remember , it is a boot knife. Becareful as it will sometimes come loose. I have 2 and they both do it. No big deal as you can hear it clicking and rattling when it does

This product is as-described: a mini backup dagger. It's small, but fulfills its role as a boot knife quite well. Don't buy it expecting a knife you can put on your belt, or strap to your shoulder: this is a knife designed for a specific role. The handle-blade connection (at least on the one I got) is very solid. There's a small amount of play when the knife's in the sheath, but the connection is sound enough; I doubt it'd fall out in a sprint. Knowing what I do now, I might have looked for a larger knife, but that's only because I was expecting something different; if you're shopping for a boot knife, I'd recommend this product.

Good knife, not for most boots
It's a good little knife, but I ordered it specifically for my hiking boot. I saw that it came with a lanyard, and I saw the pics of it in the lacing, unless you have really high top boots, this basically limits your foot flexibility. It's a good little knife, but it doesn't stay in the sheath, and is useless in hiking boots. Leave it in your pack.
