The 28 1/2” 1095 carbon steel blade has the requisite Japanese lion etched on it just below the brass habaki. Hattori Hanzo would be proud of this sword. The hardwood handle is wrapped in white rayskin and intricately braided black cord over a leaf-shaped silver metal menuki. The handle is bounded by a circular black metal tsuba and a decorative black metal alloy pommel with silver and gold leaf designs that match the collar. The 39” overall katana fits like a glove in its black lacquered scabbard, which has very recognizable carved yellow artwork and bright yellow cord-wrapping.
