I loved this knife, I originally ordered it as a birthday present expecting it to be something that would only last a few years. I’ve been collecting and using knives for about 10 years now and this is a really great knife! My friend uses this as his backup knife should he need it. Not as fast opening as your OTF knife but for a flip open stiletto this is a pretty good quality. I didn’t find out until I’d received the knife that micarda actually means a mixture between plastics and fiber glass materials… Research error on my end ??.

I think that I've already done a review. I like it so much that I bought 3 extra "just because". I've carried a knife since I was a kid, and I'm now almost 74 so I know a good bit about knives. #1 - Really good knife for the price #2 - not super great steel, but sharpens well & holds an edge pretty good #3 - the best knife I have in this style except for some high-end switchblades that I own #4 - as in other reviews, spend a few $$ and get some TORX drivers to tighten the screws, but BE CAREFUL not to strip or overtighten them. #5 - lightly lubricate it with some silicon/teflon liquid available at Lowes. #6 - a bit too big for my EDC though I do carry it periodically just to impress my friends BOTTOM LINE: If I didn't already have 4, I'd buy another one of these. ????

I bought this as a gift for myself and I expected to get what I paid for. I was expecting a knife that would fall apart with a bit of use and I am genuinely pleased with this knife. It is my everyday carry knife and it has so far held up very well. It feels very nice in the hand and anytime I pull it out and show it off everyone says it is beautiful.

I first purchased one of these several years ago when they were thumb-knob openers marked "Rough Rider". The only difference was that the blade wasn't anodized black, like these. The Micarta gives a far superior grip that the more ornate handles cannot, especially when wet, the cross-bar is perfect for keeping your hand off of the blade in a push. The pocket clip is on the butt-end, putting the anvil blade-to-handle down in the pocket, so that when you push the knife up through the fabric of the pocket it ends up in the ready-to-open and use position very quickly. I purchased several of these and have really put them through tough utility, taking a long time to wear one out enough to give to a Bud and get a fresh one out of the drawer. My only complaint is that the blade could be 4", then I would purchase a couple dozen more and leave them in pockets. Excellent tool, excellent design.

This is one of the nicest knives I have ever owned for the money. I like them so much I have given several of them to my friends as gifts. I would definitely tell anyone to buy one and if you don't like it I would be greatly suprised.

Very fast opening. Excellent micarta handle. Very cool black blade. Good purchase. Just what I was looking for in a stiletto.

Good knife. I had mine for about a year or so, and I plan on buying again. I took it around everywhere and it didn't have many problems, but the screws did get loose after awhile from lots of opening and closing. I just made a trip to Home Depot and bought a small, affordable case of screwdriver tips. The sizes are T8 and T6, I believe. Mine finally broke because I accidentally tightened it too much, and it wouldn't flick open. When I loosened it I did it too much so some of the screws started to fall out, and I lost a few pieces. In conclusion, the knife itself is really good, just make sure you're careful about how you handle it.

Got this Micarta knife a week ago! Solid body, nice and heavy---but wieldy! I haven't tried sharpening it yet, because it seems sharp enough for now. I dig the old school gangster-style look! You might wanna loosen in and oil the mechanism a bit to make it easier to flick open. I messed a bit with the blade on the locking area, bu Dremel-grinding a bit off for the lock to bite deeper, now it has a bit of play, but it is still a good knife for the surprisingly low price . I love BudK knives and have like 17 of them now. Enjoy!

This is a fantastic knife blade holds edge very well. Is a heavy knife that opens well with the assist and feels like a heavy high quality knife. Will be a great carry knife for anybody and well worth the price. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend to my friends and suggest giving it as a great Christmas Present.

This is a fantastic knife for the price, a solid similar heavy knife but good solid grip and excellent pointed one sided blade. Sharp and classy looking, I have bought two and ordered one for a friend in Arizona and decided to order a 3rd one for me. This is how much I think of this knife ??.

I like it a lot. Opens fast, works well with either hand and has a good edge. Only sharp on one side so it is not like a spear point knife. I'm looking for another about the same size with a spear point but after reading reviews ones that look good seem to have hit or miss quality control. This one came out perfectly.

Looks are a 10. She's big! The handle is beefy. The blade is long and thin. Classy heavy sharp knife. After a few moments of hand sharpening she was the sharpest knife I owned

I purchased this knife primarily for my job at a produce store because i wanted something fast, elegant, and something I could open with one hand -a step up from my clumsy Swiss army knife. I can open boxes, cut through packaging, and unwrap pallets of produce quickly and easily with the great-looking knife I have come to swear by. All said, this knife is incredibly sturdy, and the only issue I could find was that it needed a bit of sharpening upon un-boxing. It's a must have, especially for the money. It's my trusty sidekick and I find myself looking for every opportunity to use it!

I had some doubts after reading a couple negative reviews, but once I got it I loved it. Opened quick, nice sharp blade, and feels nice in your hands. Just take care of it and it'll last a real good amount of time

i am a big fan and collector of knives and BUDK is my favorite site, the knife has a great spring, its beautiful, and it slides far enough into the handle so that if you have a grinder you can sharpen the other side, not to mention that its razor sharp and over all is GREAT!

Being a Chicagoan, I feel this style pocket knife is one of the only pocket knife worth getting. I'm a snob about them too. I give this five stars, because upon receiving it I was absolutely blown away by how well the assisted mechanism works, how well it was constructed (for 10 measly bucks?) and how chunky it feels in your hand. It's a great self defense tool for roaming bad urban neighborhoods, and can pierce just about anything that you're going to pierce with a knife. Most assist opening stilettos go bad quickly, or you have to tighten them. I haven't had to tighten this once in the two years I've owned it, but a few of the little screws that hold in the micarta have fallen out (but they can be replaced, as can this low cost knife.) Overall, this knife exceeded my expectations upon receiving it, and still holds up to this day as being a fully functional self defense tool. You don't need to be an Italian hit-man to carry this either; it's a classic for a reason (though I tend to carry the United Cutlery assist opening karambit, because its blade length falls within local ordinances.) For mobster fans, you'll miss the little button that shoots open the knife automatically, but only for a second, as you'll find this particular assist mechanism actually moves the blade faster, and can withstand more abuse, than any historically accurate piece could possibly offer.

5 stars easily. Heavy, large, thick knife. I've stabbed straight through drywall with it and it's still needle sharp. Like some of the other reviews have said, the screws have come out of the grips, one screw on one side, but they're simple hex screws like you'd need a really tiny allen wrench to tighten. Great knife, and for 10 bucks the quality is simply astounding. Thanks BUDK!

You know your dealing with a cool knife the minute you open the box.this knife is sharp and stylish. It's a throw back to the old days for a fraction of the cost. I got a couple of these in different colors as well.

Very sturdy, good quality especially for the price. Reasonably sharp out of the box. Quick and didn't have to immediately adjust screws like a lot of knives built in similar ways. I just ordered a second one because my first one "got lost" when I left it at a friend's house and she moved out. I'm tired of waiting on it to turn up, this was my favorite daily carry! It was a little thicker than I expected but not really an issue. I don't think I've ever had a knife I liked this much that I only paid 10 bucks for.

This is a knife that creates jealousy in all who see it. Everyone I have shown it to has asked to buy it from me (and I almost sold it!). I was offered $50 for it, but being an honest guy I told them it was only $10 at BUDK. I enjoy the weight, speed of opening, and looks of this knife. The only issue I have (and I fixed it with a couple of shorter screws) is the clip on the knife. This is not the kind of knife you clip to your pants or belt, it is a pocket knife and should be kept in a pocket. Other than the clip, I love this knife and so will you! I recommend buying at least 5. That way you can keep a couple and sell a few to your friends who will be dying to own one as soon as they see yours.

This knife is very, very cool. I received it an hour ago and i am very impressed with it. I like this knife a lot because it is very, very big. It is heavy (a good kind of heavy). This knife is not a gentleman's knife at all. All in all i think BUDK did a great job with this knife.

This knife is everything i wanted, and more. i searched the budk website for the perfect knife, and this is definitely it! the blade length is perfect, the size of the handle is perfect for my hand, and it flips out fast with a razor sharp edge. the only downside i find to it, is the way you have to press your thumb or forefinger to flip the blade. at first it feels a little awkward, but before long, it feels perfect! Amazing, inside and out!

This knife is flippin amazing my son always wanted a switchblade, but they are illegal in our state, so I got him this I didnt know he would like it so much! It comes out fast. The only flaw is that the handle is not like it is on the picture other than that it is intimidating. Thanks Budk for an amazing product.

so to start the pocket clip while useful but it did not work that well and whenever i held the knife it would dig into my right hand and it was very annoying while not very bad it was still noticeable and im trying to have it removed the pocket clip. Also it had arrived with some of the paint being scraped off and along with scratches on the handle and the last thing was the thing that releases the blade when you want to put the blade back into the handle would sometimes lock up and require a lot of force to put it back but other than those issues good knife very pointy

Just got mines today! It's quite heavy and has a really sharp edge! The only problem I have with it is the assisted opening! It doesn't open all the way, maybe because it has lube all in it?

It's a great knife for the price. The handle is a little bit loose and has weird screws but nothing impossible. It is stylish, sharp, and fun to play around with. This knife feels like it came right out of the Outsiders, very classic looking. Also a pretty good weight to it.

Very good knife for the money. The only thing I had to do is put some loc-tite on the screw for the blade. No problems with anything else.

The blade is great and it fits nicely in my hand. The spring works well and it came sharp out of the box. I bought one for me and one for my best friend. It's a bit heavy but it evens out. My only complaint is that the little tiny screws are a bit loose and several ended up falling out. I tightened them up except for one got stripped out and now I lost it.

Bought these on bogo and while I love the knife I found that the blade lock is a piece of sp**ge! If your now worried about the blade closing on your fingers slicing half of them in the process then by all means get this knife! I would prefer a knife I can trust!

I bought 10 of these as Xmas gifts. They seem to be ok, but I don't like how the finger assist doesn't stick out much farther than the guards so it makes it a bit harder to get your finger on to get it opened. I got them on a BOGO, so I can't really complain, but if I was paying retail I would spend a bit more and get a nicer knife...

The blade itself was good, but after opening it twice, the blade got stuck because the locking mechanism skipped past the blade, and wedged itself on the far side, becoming completely stuck. I am currently trying absolutely everything in my power to colse it again, so that I can send it back. The handle also came quite loose, and I'm afraid that it would break if I tried to use it. I might have just gotten a defective item, but I simply cannot recommend it based off of my experiences.
