Product Description
The M48 Survival Axe is the perfect companion for hiking and camping. With a 37" overall length, it's great as a walking staff while camping. A cast stainless steel blade is razor-sharp and can chop through saplings with ease. A 30% fiberglass handle is nearly indestructible and the axe head is attached to it with three separate metal bolts.
I have one and I love it so much. It is very cool and useful. I have an actual axe for doing heavy lifting so the guys that are chopping down huge trees with this are missing the point! This tool is great for taking along as a light carry. Very versatile, use as a tool or as a self defense weapon in any situation you may find yourself in on the trail. I just picked up two more recently as a BOGO, what a deal. My son and dad will love them as much as I do!

nice axe
I like the axe. It has cool designed handle and blade. It could be a little longer though. I will use it for many tasks . One of them is opening frozen over ice fishing holes. Nice for that job. The man or boy in black is not swat. He should be removed from ads. FYI

SHORT.
At a measly 38", it can only be used as a 'hiking staff' if you are about 5'. Maybe 5 and a half. Otherwise, you're just walking through the woods with a longish hammer. 100% useless to actually climb or hike with.

Broke the blade
Ax works amazing. Wonderful size, great balance, very sturdy. Broke the blade off in the process of chopping down a tree, not even mad. 10/10 would buy again

Superb Design
Everything you would want- sturdiness, a great grip, well balanced and very sharp. Good looking too! Took it out into the woods and gave it a hurl and really had to pull to get it out of a tree. Does not make a good walking stick, if it was any longer, it would through the balance off.Just a great tomahawk.

Badaxe
I love this axe! I got one for my birthday and it was and still is nothing short of amazing! I accidentally left the rubber blade case on and hit a tree. It nearly broke in half! THanks BudK.

Good tool but...
I had a lot of good fun and use out of mine but the handle broke off and there seems to be no way to replace it

needs a bigger head
i like this axe very much. the only down fall with it is that it does not have enough weight behind it to do some serious cutting with. if the head was a bit heavier and bigger the design would be absolutly perfect for many diferent situations

MK48 Survival Axe
I got this axe as a gift for Father's Day 6/13/13. The axe head is remarkably able and strong enough to put holes in a variety of obstacles without even marring the finish of the Axe. Mine Broke after a few hard swings at a small sapling in my yard. The Head of the Axe SNAPPED clean off right below the screws attaching the axe to the haft. I was very impressed with the metal of the axe itself. But buyer be warned, the "virtually indestructible" Haft of this Axe is anything but. Thank the Maker BudK has a great return policy and the quick response to my plight offering a refund or credit to either replace the one that snapped or to buy something else of equal price. All in all I like the Mk48 line, but won't be depending on this fail, of a Survival Blunder anytime soon.
