Product Description
NO CHEAP IMITATION! This knife is an exact replica of knives carried by Marines in WWII. Made by KA-BAR in Olean, NY for the US Marine Corps and first introduced in WWII.
My Son has followed in my steps and I'm so very proud of him. I bought him this Ka-Bar for his birthday to have a authentic piece of Marine Corps history. It is strong, sharp and beautifully crafted!

Great quality!!
The piece itself is pristine, does carry out the job effectively. Will be getting a second soon !!

Ka-Bar is the best!
I have bought several of these, the first to replace the one I got stolen. Ever since all my hunting buddies have wanted one. Don't settle for the cheap look-a-likes, they cannot handle what a Ka-Bar can. One thing I tell everyone. DO NOT machine sharpen a Ka-Bar. I learned that in the Corp.

A real working knife
I bought 3 of the BUDK Chinese USMC knives about 2 years ago. Despite the knock-off recent price increase to about $23 each the Chinese "ka-bar" is a good blade but quality control is hit or miss. The two knives I gave to my sons have been fine. But the knife I kept did not have the butt cap properly installed. Te cap just fell off. Used some epoxy and reinstalled the butt cap.
The blade seems fine, it is blackened stainless steel. The leather stacked handle seems great.
But I also bought a USA made Marine Ka-Bar which is 1095 carbon steel is a better knife but is 4 times the price.

One of the best
Don't settle for a K-bar imitation. The true K-bar knives are built to last and with strength to spare.

J. M.
I have bought 3 of these knives and they all came as pictured. One I sharpened and use on hunting trips, one I put up, and one I gave to a friend that was in Nam. He said it was just like the one he had over there. I was in Central America and the knife is the same but the sheath I had down there had a sharpening stone attached. The are really great knives.

One of the Greatest
The Ka-Bar knife is, in my opinion, one of the greatest knives in the world. For under $100, you get a knife that will go through anything. The handle is comfortable and provides a good grip and the leather sheath is good quality. The blade has a good looking finish on it and it doesn't wear much with use. This knife can be used for slicing, stabbing, batoning, digging, prying, and anything else you can think of. Buy at least one of these because it will last a lifetime.

KA-BAR USMC
I love this KA-BAR USMC knife! I also own the black KA-BAR 1213 knife with Glass Filled Nylon sheath. Both knives are great.

Kabar USMC Fighting Knife
This is probably the most well made knife I own. Good for whatever you throw at it, although as you can imagine, being a Ka-Bar it's more of a utility knife. I haven't tried batoning it because I actually haven't needed to: put in a few minutes and you can cut down 2 and a half inch diameter saplings. Don't worry about scuffing it up either, the scratches and nicks and bits of discoloration that the leather and wood get just make it look that much more authentic and amazing. As I once read, 'You'll probably open more cans of K rations with it than you will Japanese',but this knife is well worth the cash many times over: I'd trust my life to it.

Made for A Marine
Its an excellent k-bar. I say so because I brought my original k-bar back from Vietnam and except for a few minor issues, not worth mentioning its perfect. It brings back memories and just wanted a new k-Bar to display in my office next to the K-Bar I used in Vietnam. I should add that I had more than 1 K-Bar in Vietnam do to extenuating circumstances.Great knife and would recommend it to whom ever wants a sturdy well built knife. just keep the blade SHARP. Well worth the money.

Great
Great knife I'm thinkging about getting another. When I first got it it didn't come in the box shown it came in a black box. I love the sheath and the knife I cut myself shaving the hair on my arm with it. Great knife. Thanks

Great knife, wrong box
Love the knife! As a retailer though, I wish the knife came in the white box pictured instead of the plain black box I received. Maybe Budk should change the picture.

amazing!
Ka-bar never fails to impress with this classic knife!
this knife comes so sharp that it slices with such ease.
the sheath is made out of sturdy leather.
the black coating is on there so well you can cut so much and it will not rub off.
the handle is also made out of such strong wood that it doesn't seem it won't be rotting or cracking at all. i also love the packet that comes with it that tells you how to care for your knife properly.

Ka Bar
Everything about this knife is perfect, from the grip to the blade, holds and excellent edge, in which i have made sharp enough to shave with, i have taken it out many times, from the woods to shotgunning beers with, i stepped on it yesterday and the slice in my toe couldn't have been deeper and cleaner..in some way i was almost proud getting all the stitches because i can now see exactly the potential it has

Best knife in history
This knife is the M1911 of military knives! I'm well-versed in the history of military cutlery of the past century to the present, and no knife has had such influence and has seen as much combat as the KA-BAR. It's still in use today, and the legendary USMC uses a bayonet based on the timeless design. But, even with the improved, modern versions being produced today, nothing can beat the feel of the original. Even the smell of the perfectly oiled leather is incredible! It's no wonder this knife has proven such an indispensable ally to our armed forces for 75 years!

#1 Carry Knife
If you plan on carrying a must be reliable knife, then there is no other. I started with a Buck 119 and compared to my KABAR, Buck is junk! I started carrying my KABAR in the Corp in 79 and have never found another to even come close, you can chop wood with it, then give a decent shave, then later go snoop and poop and practically decapitate a sentry. I call my KABAR my b****, cause she just never lets the f*** up! Get this knife and you will need no other, except maybe the Machete. OOO-RAH! And yes it can be thrown with exceptional devastation and accurate.

Exceptional
The finest piece I have bought from BudK. Well balanced, sharp out of the box. Nicely integrated with the sheath and comfortable in the hand. If I am ever in need of a knife for either survival or fighting, I hope to have this one around.
Karol Zawadzki Oct 22, 2011 (5 out of 5)
Holy Balls. When this thing arrived It was a lot bigger then i expected it to be. The box size gives away the magnitude of what you're about to experience. When you pick up this metal titan, you feel the weight, and with it you feel the power of this, like no other, piece. The handle is wooden, and the blade is, unlike on the picture, black not silver. Comes fully, and deadly sharp, ready for your most dangerous and demanding missions.

favorite knife i have
this thing is amazing i cook with it some times and it slices straight through frozen solid meat which is impressive for any knife i've cut a 5inch thick tree in half in three swings, very sharp out of the box but i always sharpen my knifes,if any one is looking for a first knife to have i recommend this one because it will take the abuse of the years to come

This product is great and looks very good. I bought it for my uncle who is currently serving in the U.S. marine corps. This product made a GREAT gift. Fast shipping. I will be a returning customer. NOTE: very sharp, when testing it gets pencil like scracthes easily, but not too noticeable.

Best ever
I have owned a USMC Ka-Bar since I was a kid. I have also owned many other knives also. The Ka Bar is the most versatile of all I have ever owned. Whether its skinning, cutting, or batoning through firewood it can take it. It will hold an edge longer than most others I have used. This was the best design ever put into production. I guess that why it is still in production today.

tang problems
Awesome blade crap tang. Its ground down instead of tapered into the handle. I broke mine right below the cross guard. I wasn't even that rough with it. I was cutting a branch maybe 3in thick and it snapped. I've made better.
