Product Description
This massive Japanese Odachi sword is an outstanding example of craftsmanship. The odachi was used on early Japanese battlefields but its size soon relegated it to use as an army's standard or as an offering to the gods. Stretching 69" long with a heat-forged 45" carbon steel blade, this sword has a powerful full-tang construction. The hardwood handle is traditionally wrapped with leather. A black lacquered wooden scabbard houses the blade. This is a superb item, and, one you'll definitely want to add to your collection!
i love this sword i just got it as a birthday gift recently and i have no complaints.

Japanese Odachi Sword
Very Impressive sword without a doubt. Nice blade and hilt, endcap was nice and snug as well. Sheath was very decent, my only question was the authenticity of the "full tang" it said in description, but at glance on the hilt there was no real evidence of pins holding it place but could be merely covered up with the grips placed around them. If anyone has any more info about the "full tang" please contact me thank you.

Amazing
One of the greatest buys I've made so far. It's a lot of sword for the price so I didn't think it was gonna be so great, but I'm glad I was wrong.

good blade for price
If you get this sword you need to know that it is mainly a decorative sword. My buddy took a swing at a branch and the sword bent slightly not to bad but it just shows it is only decorative. Altogether great for price though. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.

Japanese Odachi Sword
Just a small edit note really, the cross guard was really loose how some might be on not so high quality items. Also as expected the flimsy chain accents are just a cheap aluminum alloy ring linked so they broke soon as i attempted to lift this beast up by the one tethered near the cross guard, the small chain and diamond shaped weight was completely broken off beyond fixing. My only concern on an exchange is the loose cross guard, it is in a place as such that i cannot fix it myself and would just prefer it to be exchanged instead. Great sword tho overall, definitely worth the money aside from minor snags like the chains (and weight) and cross guard. Very beautiful weapon.

45 is angle iron.
1045 is 5 pts above Ornamental iron. It can be hardened and even doing so only requires water. But it is not steel. Not steel not a sword. Polishes great and easily and can almost hold an edge. My first mentor liked 1040 iron for gates.
