Product Description
The Iaito Musashi Bushido Katana Sword is designed for training and practice. With the same look and feel of the sharpened, battle ready swords, this sword features a 1045 high carbon steel, full-tang blade without the sharp edge. The dual bamboo peg construction allows you to take apart your sword for care. The hardwood handle offers genuine ray skin with tight cord wrappings. Includes the traditional tsuba and fittings of a battle ready sword as well as a sword bag.
Purchased this iaito several months back. It's held up really well, it's perfect for kata practice. Few really minor imperfections; the dye on the ito has rubbed off a bit so it's kind of a grayish color and not the black it was when I first unpacked it, one of the menuki is placed down by the kashira, and the same is wrinkled so it sometimes scrapes my palm but otherwise it's a fantastic training tool, especially considering the price. Got my eye on the wakizashi iaito next!

Got this to replace my other Musashi Iaito after the saya on it broke (it was pushed off a stage and the saya hit the ground on a corner.... swords, even when bagged, and misguided children do not mix). You really can't beat these iaito for the price. Blade is nice, and fittings are sturdy. Of course I'm going to have to retie the sageo for a proper way to attach it to my hip, but that's of little concern. The tsuka-ito may need to be re-wrapped at some point as well. It moved around quite a bit on my last one. But again, no big deal. Only thing I don't like is that the blade rattles in the sheath a bit when moved side-to-side. Though I certainly was not expecting perfection for a $50 dollar sword. looks great with the wakizashi iaito.

Hey, this Iaito is awesome, My instructor practically drooled over it when I showed him. When I told him the price he almost fainted on me. The sword has no slack anywhere, it's as solid as a tree. The blade is beautiful and strait, no crookedness, and the flat finish on the saya is perfect. Now I just have to make sure no one at the dojang steels it their so jealous.

The sword came promptly and I was kept informed on its progress through the shipping process. I am not an expert on swords myself and cannot speak too much towards the quality of it beyond a layman's understanding, but it is a solid sword and is relatively unmarked - only upon close inspection did I see minor scrapes (which is the only reason this was given 4 instead of 5 out of 5). I would recommend this to anyone who's in my situation - buying an item more for aesthetic purposes than functional ones - but I'm not qualified to actually say whether or not this sword would hold up in a more-functional setting.

Really surprised by the overall quality for the price. Really good starter economy blade. Slightly point heavy, but not bad at all. The Sageo is cheap, basically a big shoestring, but it severs the purpose.<br />I purchased one for me as a trial and liked it enough to by one for my 16 year old son to practice with.

Ok for the money
Construction was good, but was very forward heavy and the bo-hi (blood groove) was too shallow and therefore wasn’t any good for producing the proper sound when a good cut was executed. It’s a shame because I was hoping this would be a low cost sword for my beginner students in Iaido
