Product Description
The Honshu War Sword - Black represents a modern spin on a proven, time-tested sword design, boasting a sleek, contemporary look and serious muscle to back it up. The imposing 21 1/4" blade is forged from rugged 1065 high carbon steel, with a non-reflective black coating for added stealth and corrosion resistance. Tough and ergonomically contoured, the TPR handle provides a superb no-slip grip. The brooding black handle and blade finish are vividly offset with a satin-finished, stainless steel handguard. Measures 30" long overall. A heavy duty sheath completes the package.
This thing feels great in the hand, and it's fun to swing it. I just love mine and intend to use it to its fullest. Gourds and tatami mats need to be very afraid.

WoW!
Solid, great balance, unusually sharp out of the box. This is one bad boy. A must have for any serious sword work. Not only an efficient sword to wield, also has great eye appeal and the scabbard is decent.

Fantastic Dadao War Sword
This Honshu War Sword is actually a smaller copy (Wakizashi sized) of a Chinese Dadao War Sword. I received it and Wow! It was very well balanced and had a good weight for a real battle weapon. The fit and finish were excellent. The blade came as a Manganese Steel Blade and it was sharp and solid. The shape of the handle was very ergonomic and comfortable affording one or two hand hold. I have the Cold Steel Dadao. Condor Dadao, CAS Hanwei Dadao as well as several other Dadao blades, and I would put this Honshu War Sword Dadao as one of my favorite. It is shorter and lighter than your standard Dadao making this very handy to carry around as well as storage in the car. The only complaint I have is the design of the sheath left something to be desired. I would have preferred a sheath more similar to the Cold Steel Dadao sheath. With a better designed sheath, I would rate this sword a total 11 out of 10. Oh, I bought another one, but now it comes in 1065 steel instead of the original manganese steel. I wonder why the change in steel?

Excellent Sword
Excellent, well made sword. No problems with mine, blade is really sharp. Blade is also thick and heavy. Agree with one of the previous reviewers that is a bit harder to re-sheath the sword than it is to take it out. One set of the oriental characters on the box means Okinawa, but could not find any reference to such a sword when I googled Okinawan war sword. Well worth the cost. Tom from Hawaii.

This Totally Reeks of Awesomeness
If you were in a situation where you brought a knife (or sword in this case) to a gunfight, I think as long as you had this sword you would be just fine....
Never been more confident or felt more safe while having this in my possession....Zero cons and about 10 Pros...I have done everything with this thing from the time i bought it and rated everything i did with it 10 stars...I have even learned to throw it with great results coming from it...I sold or given away every knife, Ax, Machete, i owned because this is all 3 in one.....Also great for butchering and gutting....I actually had some jerkwater that broke into my house give himself up to the police after i pulled this out from it's shealth... I even forced him to call 911 himself to tell the police everything he did.... Must Have for any mafia henchman and also make a great gift to anyone who would like to intimate someone without pulling out a gun... Love this thing and bought 2 so i can use them as twin swords...

One Man Guillotine
This is the perfect weapon to have for the coming world war and apocalypse. If they ever take our guns and rifles away, you had better have this weapon at your side. It is a One Man Head Chopping Guillotine. Budk, don't you dare show this baby to ISIS. It has that perfect balance in your hands as you swing this sword to the left or to the right with one or two hands. The blade is also very thick and very strong when compared to a samurai sword. This Blade is not a stabbing weapon as much as it is a chopper. If you are looking to cut arms, legs and heads, this is the one. As for the sheath, it is ok but I would prefer something different but the sword makes the deal more than worth it.

One small problem.
I was wondering how I could get away with writing two reviews, but then I remembered I bought two of these blades. One of which was engraved, and this review is about the engraved one. I had to drop some stars, because they put the engraving on the wrong side of the blade. When I am wearing the blade on my side. The name is next to my leg, and no one can read it that way. I'm sorry, but I'm proud of the sword and its name and I want people to know it.

Issues with war sword
My brother got one of these and recommended that I get one as well. I bought one and was happy with it for a while. My brother then told me the guard on his war sword had come loose. Soon after mine developed the same problem. Neither of us have put the swords to any work, and so the guards came undone without any force required. Rather unsatisfied with what has happened because ultimately it's not a bad sword, but it seems like the craftsmanship is a little bit lacking.
