Gil Hibben Old West Fixed Blade Boot Knife With Sheath

This is a very nice knife. Chinese made knifes used to be the bottom of the barrel, but that's no longer the case. This is very well made. Fit and finish is superb. Very sharp. As others have mentioned, the sheath is not a boot knife sheath, but it's still a nice sheath, thick sturdy and well made. Highly recommended.

This is my second Hibben blade and I have yet to be disappointed. This is a stunning collector piece or edc knife. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful knife with a polished blade that's extremely sharp right out of the box. I love the sheath and the belt clip is convenient. easy to attach and detach. Knife has a well balanced weight to it. Overall extremely happy. this is not a utility or hunting knife. it's made for one purpose, self defense. To stab and slice at your would be attacker. I would recommend if you want a classy self defense weapon.

A beautiful work of art. Razor sharp right out of the box, though it's a bit hard to keep in a boot, unless they are knee hight.

This boot knife is the perfect match for the Western Toothpick!! Both are Excellent blades and they match perfectly. These are the Best 2 knives I have EVER purchased. I can only recommend to all who appreciate a Crafted piece of beauty. I warn you now, they are Razor sharp, not to be fooled around with. A shame I can't give 6 Stars on these two knives. RH

Knife is excellent. But the sheath doesn't appear to be made for this knife. The handle is so much wider than the blade, there is not enough offset to where the blade sits in the sheath that the sheath has to bend around the handle, making it very bulky when clipped into the boot. Plus having to force the knife into the sheath in order to get it low enough for the strap to snap is not ideal either. I liked this one due to the location of the clip, my other boot knife has the clip much lower on the sheath and it ends up working its way loose as I walk. Having one that completely hides inside the boot was what I wanted, and this sheath should provide.

This is my second Gil Hibben knife. I was so impressed with my GH Bowie, that I wanted a boot knife for work. It arrived sharp and beautiful. But......the clip is set too high for mid-high boots. Very disappointing. I ended up getting a lesser knife for daily carry that was not sharp at all. I cannot carry exposed knives at work, so my GH "Old West" boot knife stays at home on my nightstand. Shame.

This could have been one of the nicest knives I have seen yet this afternoon.. The only thing needed would have been a little better judgement when adding the guard, they should have bull nosed the edges giving it that little extra TLC to a great design, and quality look to complete it's finish...!

As usual, The knife did arrive early, about 4-5 days after ordering it. Was looking for an every day carry that has dagger dimensions but is legal in California. This knife is perfect, Shaped and built like a dagger, but only single edged. The knife does have a boot clip, instead of a belt loop, for clipping on the tops of boots, but this clip also very useful if you prefer to carry a fixed blade, but don't like going into public areas with it. Sheath can be unclipped quickly, and stored. Handle is great, Very dark wood reminiscent of ebony or teak, almost black with grey grain. I used a 50-50 mixture of beeswax and pine sap to seal the handle wood. heated up very hot and then brushed on the handle, allowing as much to soak into wood as possible. Then cooling in freezer makes the handle supper hard, And neither beeswax or pine sap deteriorates, ever. then polished to a mirror finish, A really beautiful knife for the price. Above and beyond the quality expected. I recommend this knife to anyone who likes daggers, but wants a legal version.

this is my second Hibben knife i also own the sub hilt assault knife i also bought from bud k and i fell absolutely in love .i had been searching for a sub hilt fighter for years and finally landed on that knife ,, soon i was in the market for a all around knife that was easy to carry conceal and use for everyday so i took a look at the Gil Hibben boot knife and found it to be right in the dimensions i was looking for so i pulled the trigger and bought it about a week ago ,, the knife arrived in true bud k fashion ,on time and even early and packed like a tank with packing material and all the paperwork and a new magazine fresh for me to look through .. at first glance of the knife i found it to be of the usual high quality of a Hibben knife that Bud k offers its blade is polished and lightning fast , the length is actually perfect and the edge is razor sharp , i urge anyone buying this knife to use extreme caution when handling it for it is not a toy in any respects. the handle fills your hand as if it was made for it and the blade disappears into thin air because of its light weight and balance , and feels very audible in your hand , you instantly feel as if there is no task this knife cannot handle because of the light weight and shape of the blade and balance causes virtually no fatigue using it , its a little more bulky then most boot knifes due to the sheath and its quality leather and finish that it has is true Hibben manufacturing so you sacrifice tactical concealment for the bulky quality that you get with this type of sheath , now if they could make a conceal/ tactical sheath for it that would be nice .but its really not needed , there is nothing i can say bad about this knife its literally a functional and useful knife more then for just sticking in a cowboy boot but it can handle a great deal of use so you'll want to make this your main knife real quick ,, oh and did i mention the price ,, yeah you cant beat this one guys they should be flying off the shelves by now ..and you'll be hard pressed to find a better knife for this price and its a Hibben ,, RJ Swinder

Very Sharp right out of the box. Well polished, right from the box to the wall display. Sheath is heavy leather and well made, not extreme but will protect the blade when needed. Solid, would do exactly what a knife needs to do when you need it to do it. I bought this to match up with my Gil Hibben Arkansas toothpick, they look great together.

I love this knife. Mine came sharp out of the box. It is just a smaller version of the Old West toothpick, same fit and finish. I own them both and this smaller version is a great addition to my collection.

It has a really soft blade, so just a showpiece. Sheath is good, I've had no problems with it.
