Product Description
The master knife maker Gil Hibben unveils his first-ever custom designed sword cane. A 36 1/2" wooden shaft with a synthetic ivory and wood construction. A 14" mirror-polished 7Cr17 stainless steel tanto blade snaps into the shaft and releases with a blade release mechanism built into the handle. The file-worked stainless steel head offers a great grip but can also be used as a club for self defense.
I received my sword cane in a very nice package. After examining the cane I was very pleased with my purchased. As it has been mentioned in other reviews the blade doesn't come with a sharp edge. I used a combination of a slow grinding wheel to get a edge that could be sharpened and then used a series of sharpening stones to polish the edge until it became very sharp. It blade has a nice balance and the cane looks good.

Gil Hibben
Very stylish and extremely well built. Don't waste your money on the 20.00 sword canes. This is functional as both a cane and a defensive weapon

Piece of Art
I bought the Cane hoping to use it in my wedding. It was beautiful, well made, and stylish. I liked it so much I bought one for each of my groomsmen. I would have preferred they come pre sharpened but all the kids wanted to play with them at the wedding so I guess it was better that they were dull as no little fingers got cut.

awsome
i would lie to address two separate issues in this review, first i would like to say that the first time i ordered this cane it showed up slightly damaged however the people at budk showed kindness that of witch I've never seen before, not only did they replace my cane they also express shipped it to me. now the two issues i mentioned earlier, one the sword is actually more of a dagger but the blade is thick just like all of hibbens knives

This is just a gorgeous piece of work. There's a reason why Gil Hibben is so well-known in the industry, and this sword cane is a testament to his craftsmanship. The dark wood, faux-ivory grip, stainless steel accents and pommel, and distinct blade all make the purchase well worth its money. You'll be happy to walk around town with a cane this handsome. There's no rattle when walking, and by its overall look you wouldn't guess there's a sword in there. I definitely recommend this to anyone in the market. I'd even go as far to say get some fencing classes at a community college just so you know how to use it well. I am a very happy customer.

Nice Swordcane
Nice looking swordcane. Much better than the 19.00 version. A good buy for 5t5he price.

A nice blade, if somewhat short. Well put together, but need to put something in the sheath for the rattle.

Beautiful cane, very well made. Blade is indeed mirror polished and looks lethal, but couldn't cut butter. Tanto point is reasonably sharp, though, so that's something.... These things can be corrected with lots o' sharpening. Only real complaint is it took WAY too long to get to SC from GA. Over 1 week from the time it went on the truck. All but 1 day bouncing around Columbia before it got to my door. No excuse.

VERY NICE DOSEN'T RATTLE
I've been looking for a sword cane that didn't rattle and was well made. This cane fits those requirements, at first. It was tight & quiet till the blade was removed a few times then the metal sleeve on the cane came loose. Nothing a little glue couldn't solve. The sword developed a little play while in the cane, I glued a small rubber "O" ring in the lower metal ring and it tightened up. Now the cane is perfect. I bought it on sale so it is well worth the money. I sharpened the blade to a razor edge with my diamond stones.

true review
True review here: I was looking for a good yet not to expensive Sword cane yet had to be usable as a cane. I researched this one on line and found Budk to have the best price. Budk is a company that if you know what your getting, then you know what your getting. This cane arrived in a timely manor. Was a little on the warped side(like me) but that added character. A little lose fitting but not bad. Blade was Dull. All in all a good cane. After a few good coats of clear coat it looks good and is now protected. All I could ask for is a new tip as I am wearing mine out. But I must have gotten a good one. Everyone likes it.

Overall a very good sword cane.
Was rather impressed with it when it first arrived. Was a little off put when I discovered the edge was dull until I found out it is more of a stabbing implement than a cutting one. Have had no real problems other than the blade being a little loose and there are some parts that are loose enough to start rattling when the sword is deployed.

Not bad
I like my new cane, but it was a little off-putting that it came to me blunt. It has an edge, it's just not sharp. I managed to give it a bit of a point with a sharpening stone, but I think I'll need some kind of grinder to give it the kind of edge & point the one in the video had.

Unimpressive
Very disappointed with this item as it really isn't much better quality than the $20 canes, certainly no where near the 5 times the price. Don't waste your money.
