Product Description
This knife was designed by master knife maker Gil Hibben, an avid hunter and fisherman. His firsthand experience as an Alaskan hunting guide contributed to the design of this custom knife, which is used and fully endorsed by the prestigious Alaska Professional Hunters Association. It has a 6 7/8" laser-etched, 420J2 stainless steel blade with the Hibben Knives logo and Alaska Professional Hunters Association Seal etched on it and a black Micarta handle. A premium quality, genuine leather sheath is included.
I love this knife! It came out of the box super sharp and it did shave the hairs right off of my arm and of course passed the paper test!! I love the blade shape and the black handle! I'm so glad that the oak colored handle was out of stock when I ordered (by default it changed my cart item to this one with the black handle) because I didn't even know that this knife came with a black handle! It's a heavy knife though but it's got great balance! Yes.. it's made in CHINA but Gil Hibben somehow found a place in China that does an above average job because this knife is very well made from what I can tell. I have not hunted any boars with it yet though... LoL.. and I have not chopped anything with it yet. When that time comes and something bad happens to this knife I'll report back! Buy it! You won't be disappointed!

The Alaskan Survival Knife_ The 21st Century American knife
I purchased the Alaskan Survival Knife for my brother-in Arms for Christmas 2021. He is on the front line for freedom.
This knife is the finest American knife in the last 45 years. Whether it is to live in Mantanuska or defend Alaska from Russia
or the People's Republic Of China this knife along with my Gerber Mark II will be in my Go-Bag as the quintessential personal defense &
survival knife . God Bless one finest knife makers of the 20th Century GIL Hibben.

Hibbert Alaskan is GREAT!
I think that this fine fixed blade is Gil's finest design! Built like a brick craphouse yet able to be finessed into doing some skinning. Beautiful, practical, and fits your hand like a glove! GREAT knife!

An Awesome BEAST
I just got this and I am so impressed with this knife. The craftsmanship just shines from design to finish. They took the time to insure every detail was finished. Extremely sharp out of the box. This knife fits my hand perfectly.. It is super comfortable to work with. This is a complete knife. You can do large work and detail all with one knife.

WOW, Awesome Knife!!!
That Knife definitely does feel like it belongs in your hand because of the curvature and how I can hold it and then open my hand and spread my fingers allowing my index and pinky finger(s) to latch on and hold the knife comfortably in my hand and it is quite a chopper with all that heftiness on it, it is a well built Knife!!!

A great knife all around.
Mine arrived in superb condition, razor sharp and needed no real issues addressed. It is HUGE on your belt. HUGE. I must say I love it. May not use it for everyday carry, but then again maybe I will, it's a beast! Very pleased with this one.

A very nice knife
I bought this blade some time ago and I was happy right away. I'm not one to buy a knife for display (that's what coins are for) but to use, and I've put this to some use with confidence. For the price, it's not supposed to be a Bugatti, but meant to get dirty and used. I've developed some snobbiness in that I'm not a fan of leather sheaths, but that's just being picky. If I had to, I could find a more suitable one or get it made. But this is a hefty and tough knife, and nice for the price.

Not a survival knife
The knife itself is pretty to look at, but I would not put my life in its hands. 420 should not be a viable option when choosing a survival blade. Only exception for me is the Gerber strongarm. This blade is heavy and just not meant to be a true survival blade. I'm pretty sure Dave Canterbury would laugh if you gave it to him to use on a survival trip, but I'm sure he could make it work. I don't trust this blade and won't pack it for a trip. If you want a true survival knife go get a bk2/7/9 or a TOPS even look at esee or condor. If you want to hang this on your wall go for it, but don't pack it.

Every Hibben knife that I buy seems to be better than the previous one. This knife was no exception. It is a "beast" and it would take on any task. I would recommend this knife to everyone.

Solid Knife!
You can tell by its weight alone that this knife can do some damage, even right out of the box, it comes well sharpened. The sheath is just as sturdy as the knife itself, and it is well tailored for it. Great work, beautiful product!

beautiful knife
This is one great knife. Have owned several Hibben knives through the years. This one is really beautiful and sturdy and ominous looking and useful. Wish handle was more easy to grip when might be wet. Overall very glad I have one.

My first GH Knife
and it won't be my last! Great balance, feels great in the hand, and reeks of strength. If I want to keep this perfect, I'll just have to buy another because this is not a knife for the collection. It practically begs to be used. It came sharp, cuts paper smoothly but didn't shave my arm hair. There is no reflection off the edge.

GIL HIBBEN FAN
THIS IS MY 9TH GIL HIBBED KNIFE, I'VE ALWAYS BEEN DRAWN TO HIS SENSE OF STYLE, I THINK ALL OF HIS KNIVES ARE A WORK OF ART. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A GLASS TOPPED COFFEE TABLE TO DISPLAY THEM IN MY GUN ROOM. BUT ASIDE FROM BEING A DISPLAY ITEM FOR ME, IT IS WELL BALANCED AND NICELY MADE.....

Great Knife

More than survival.
Okay, I'll be one to admit that knives (or blades in general) are usually priced as low as 'United Cutlery' and others are more than likely to be laughed at by snobby hunters and 'knife experts', and I also know that gil hibben merely allowed this to be designed by some Chinese knifemaking factory, (The real version he makes of this knife is higher quality, but costs a bunch) but even after all of that, this knife simply rocks. Seriously, I've bought a LOT of weapons and most of them were under $50, so I was a bit scared when I bought a simple foot-long knife for that much, but the second I held this knife, I knew it far surpassed every single knife and sword I own. It is 100%full tang, has a great wood finish handle that fits wonderfully in either hand. The blade is incredibly durable and has that fish-head tip that could stab through just about anything. It's appropriately heavy, and balanced I'm a way that makes it so versatile for just about anything you could need with a knife. Bottom line: great stabbing, stationary chopping, all other forms of cutting, all with a great design, blade, handle and even a great sheath. The only thing getting between me and usuing this knife for anything, is I don't wanna disrupt it's beauty.

AMAZING
I've had this knife for about a month now and I still absolutely love it! Mine was extremely sharp out of the box, it is very well balanced, not one single flaw, the handle fits perfect in my hands but my hand are fairly big. I had to make some modifications to the sheath but still gets the job done. In a nutshell GET THIS KNIFE!

Love it!!
This blade shipped as advertised, not a flaw on it. Out of the box it was beautiful and VERY sharp. Tested it out on misc. stuff laying around my room,(oops!) slices very clean. Great knife, great purchase. Thanks budk!!

Awesome Knife
I bought the Alaskan Survival Knife from Hibben and it is beautiful. Mine came with a sharp edge already, I only applied minor sharpening to make razor sharp. Sturdy, comfortable grip. Beautiful handle. I have not had a chance to field test yet but from playing with it in my garage it gets my approval for sure. I know this is a bit much but i feel like I could kill a grizzly with this knife. I'm sure I can't but thats probably my lack of skill and not the knife's awesomeness.

beautiful knife
great knife, got it a few months ago for christmas. Great sheath, I gave it a 4 because they didnt ship it in the sheath like i think they should have because the knife stabbed through the box and arrived with a broken tip. i was very disappointed. i had been looking forward to getting a hibben for a while and mine was broken. i think ill put an edge on the top because i want one there and it might fix the tip
