Product Description
This hefty beast is the king of edged weapons! This knife is the national symbol and constant companion of the great Gurkha warriors who fought many battles with this iconic weapon leading the way. The cutout is a religious symbol associated with the Gurkha Goddess of Might. This classic kukri features a hand forged 12" high carbon steel blade, which is a stout 1/4" thick. The handle is carved from rugged hardwood. Two traditional fixed blade knives are also included, each measuring 4" overall. One of these knives, the “Karda,” is a small utility knife used for fine cutting tasks; the other, “Chakmak,” is traditionally used for sharpening both the main blade and utility blade. A high quality leather sheath houses it all.

Just received this blade and am quite disappointed. The karda and chakmak appear to be unfinished scrap metal with no polishing; useless. Beware the scabbard; it looks good, appears to be solid and fits the blade nicely. However, the exterior coating adheres to anything that it may contact. Mild soap and water, leather cleaner, leather conditioner and an hour later I still couldn't handle it without expecting black smudges on my hands, work area, etc. The Kukri blade is duller than a butter knife and will require a belt sander and finishing to be usable. The blade itself still retained black forge material near the pommel that was not ground and polished properly; the butt of the pommel was dented. Overall, this is a project blade and should be considered as such. I t does appear to be hefty, a lot of (un-named steel); it may make an acceptable camp blade after it is properly finished. I wanted to like this blade, but it has too many unfinished issues for a rating above 3.

Very strongly built. Didn't come sharp, but it was easy enough to put an edge on. Hacked through a watermelon like it was nothing. I plan to put it through some real tests once spring is here.

Sturdily built, full tang. Definitely a functional knife. It didn't come sharpened, but putting an edge on it was no problem. I tested it on a watermelon, and it went right through it like nothing. I'll be putting it through some more extreme testing when spring gets here. Awesome product!

This khuk is very handy and takes a good edge, which it will hold. Mine came dull, probably because India won't export sharp blades, dunno why. It did sharpen up nicely using a file and carborundum stone. Very basic, nothing frilly but will hack brush, cut saplings and render firewood. It is also a proven self-defense tool, just sayin... I own several Khuks, some hand-made, while many are fancier to look at, I don't think many will out-perform this one and I don't worry much about losing this one compared to more expensive knives... I did make a thick leather sheath to replace the original leather-covered wood scabbard it came with... while felling some trees for firewood, one landed on the sheath and crushed it.. I prefer the leather anyway. JMO, YMMV!

Took it to the knife sharpener when I first got it. Good knife so far I really don't see this good built knife ever breaking. Budk is out of stock on this knife, if they weren't Ida ordered 3 more! Great product

Okay, this is not a Katana, this is a Khukri, a blade that is strong enough to cut a car in half. It doesn’t come sharp and I almost ruined my clothes because the sheath bled everywhere, but none of that matters because if given the proper sharpening, via grinder wheel you will have a powerful, and beautifully simplistic weapon. This blade is similar to those on a lawn mower, due to its thickness and size. I don’t see mine breaking, ever. It’s a full tang blade, and comes completely blunt. I just got around to getting it sharpened and it is gonna be a fun knife to test. From splitting logs, to splitting cars this should do the cheap trick.

Always wanted to buy kukri but did not want to spend a lot when chances are you do not know what you are going to get. I have done a ton of research and have concluded that even with the top kukri makers/distributors there is a luck of draw the possibility. No matter what they tell you, quality control is nowhere in par to factories in our side of the world. That being said a $20.00 dollar investment seemed reasonable knowing fairly well the quality and condition of what I was going to get. Overall, kukri came dull (no surprise) but in great shape. Sheath surprisingly fit tightly and kukri would not drop when held upside down even when forced. I immediately began putting an edge on this bad boy and removing that uncomfortable middle of the grip raised area with Dremell, files and sand paper. I completely re-contoured the grip to fit my hand perfectly. The sheath as I read in other reviews seemed to bleed paint when held with wet hands however, I applied several coats liquid shoe polish and problem solved. I will be adding some waterproofing spray/liquid eventually but sheath seems fine. For $20.00 dollars, even $30.00 you cannot go wrong if….if…, you are willing to put some effort, maybe a couple of hours of additional work to complete and build a great kukri.

Received my Kukri fast, 3 business days after placing my order. About 30 minutes work with a file and whetstone put a nice sharp working edge on my new Kukri which made short work on some seasoned 2" red oak. This was my first BUDK purchase and I am pleasantly surprised with the entire experience, quality of the knife versus cost, and intend to try out some more products from this company.

Out of every knife, machete, sword in my collection of I had to take just one.... Had mine for over a decade. Holds a razor edge, took mine to a knife shop and paid to have a shaving edge out on. Chops, sliced carves, even digs all day and comes back to shaving fast. Can be thrown, could probably be batoned but mine probably won't be. Sheath needs paracord, glue and electrical tape. Have passed on many purchases as this one is a beast if you sharpen it and take care of the sheath. Unless you have to buck logs for a sub zero fire or otherwise NEED a full size axe, this will do. Makes a dandy but heavy scout machete, cleaver for butchering of quartering game. Able to use like a drawknife, and craft carving. May get the combat commander kukri, then again.... Not deprived as we sit.

The blades need to be sharpened. It is unfinished. Only one of the small knives should be sharp, the other is for maintaining the edge of the big blade. This khukri is basic but very solid, heavy and as big as khukri's should be. I just bought my second Bud-K kukri, they are that solid and good. If you use chopper knives, this is the one, once sharpened. You won't need another more costly kukri. This will do it.

A good workman-like blade. A simple piece of steel forged into shape.. probably a re-purposed car or truck spring. These blades ARE tempered and are hardest along the belly of the blade. They do take a good edge but it may take some time to do that. Lots of filing or working carefully on a grinder- remember NOT to overheat the blade- I use a coffee can of water by the grinder to keep it from overheating and pulling the temper. Once Ive set the edge, I use a 1-inch belt sander to refine it.. and then touch it up with a file. Lastly I use a fine grit stone to finish the edge, and they DO take a fine edge. I also keep a small stone around when using it in the field. A buddy uses a dianond "stick" honer to keep his touched up. No need to fear USING/abusing this blade- chop, slice, dig... it can take it- and in the hands of someone who knows kukhris, it will take off a head if it came to that. Looks cheap, but remember these are the same knives used by the peasant farmers in their fields- for everything. I have several khuks- a couple edged for general camp use, and two sharpened and set up for specifically killing, (God forbid!) These knives are great for camp use once you've set up the edge angle and sharpen it. If you havent the time or inclinations, take it to a professional sharpener. I sharpen the belly and forward sharp, thin for slashing and slicing, and behind the belly the edge angle is more like an axe edge for chopping and splitting wood. But that Me, YMMV. Buy, and enjoy learning the Kukhri! These are a good place to start.

This Kukri from BudK and the one with brass more brass are both good, this one is great. It comes with no edge and whomever had scrawled what looks like L D A on the left side of the blade near the handle. Tang is full, great chopper, threw mine once and stuck it before I put an edge on it. Never again! This thing holds a razor edge, literally will shave hair after taking down some saplings. It splits kindling, and my Cold Steel Trailmaster rarely gets to see the woods anymore. IT's that good. The one with more brass is a fine blade, better sheath IMHO. This one is worth having professionally edged ( cost me 12 bucks.. my wizard is kind ) and re-enforcing the frog with some paracord, other wise sheath didn't carry well for me. I purchased mine from Amazon, from now on I'll get them here.

The Good: Very well constructed. Blade is solid. Handle is of good quality. Full tang. The BAD: The little accessory knives are useless. Little knives don't fit in the scabbard. Even if they DID fit, one could not fit the accessory knives and the main blade all together. Belt loop doesnt fit the scabbard. No edge at all and sharpening it is near impossible without heavy equipment. I expected it to be a little better. Budk has much better items in the price range.

I brought one,but found the blade was not edged at all,when I tried to edge it by myself,I found it could be easily wear down by a file,that means it's made from low-carbon steel or made from med/high-carbon steel without heat-treat,I think it's low carbon, so even heat-treat will not harden it,how they can made a knife with such material .but the construction of the knife is ok.

This is the second best thing I bought from budk the small knives are useless, (only for symbolism). Overall a great blade it is a quarter of an inch thick! I like the cutout of the gurkha god of might but inaccurate. The ''blood groove'' is actually called a fuller to make the blade lighter and stronger

KHUKURI...pronounced as "khoo-ku-ri" is without a doubt designed to hack! It is a great blade of the Nepalese Gurkhas. Well the authentic ones come all the way from a small some rural village in Nepal and they last for ages.... This on the other hand is close one to the originals... good blade....good value...

I have had mine for about twenty years. With a few minor modifications to suit my hands and personal needs, I found it indispensable for defense and around the camp. I've used it to clear brush and to chop firewood. A totally essential tool.

People how many times does it have to be said: THE TWO LITTLE KNIVES ARE THERE FOR A REASON straight from wikipedia: The kukri typically comes in either a decorated wooden scabbard or one which is wrapped in leather. Traditionally, the scabbard also holds two smaller blades: an unsharpened chakmak to burnish the blade, and another accessory blade called a karda. THE KARDA IS JUST A SMALL SIDE KNIFE AND THE DULL CHAKMAK IS USED TO SHARPEN THE OTHER TWO DO PEOPLE NOT READ REVIEWS ANYMORE? either way 10/10 blade would cut through small trees again

As other reviewers have said, it arrives very dull. I don't see this as a negative, because some people may purchase it as a display knife. In any case, it sharpened up very quickly and now has a good edge. The sheath is a very tight fit, and is difficult to seat the knife all the way. But I expect it will loosen up with use. The belt loop is attached too low to carry the knife straight. I see another reviewer corrected this by wrapping it to the sheath with para cord. I may add a leather strap. The two accessory blades are very crude and will require a little work with a file. But I enjoy tinkering with projects like this. The blade is very thick and heavy, and a very good bargain for the price.

The Kukri dates back to the 4th Century BC Greeks. Some Kukri's were found in warrior's tombs. Warriors of many nations have made and used a Kukri, in much of Asia for more than 2400 years! Comes dull, so you can put the edge you desire on them! One Kukri now bevel ground, the other Kukri has an Axe ground edge! I sharpened the Karda, and use the dull Chakmak steel for maintaining all knife blades, & with my fire starter, for it is a steel! Wrapped the belt loop to sheath with black paracord 550, so it hangs straight, and carry both on the heavy leather belt from a local Wally World. A note about the sheaths, which are hand fitted to the blades, and I found that my 2 fit better when swapped, and the goatskin leather gets shoe polish, and buffed, regularly. These are thick bladed, 12+ inch blade, Kukri, with the Cho! For the price, they exceed all my expectations, in heavy use, in Florida's swamp jungles!

the kukri is delivered dull traditionally, the two knives are the karda (a small utility knife) for cutting small things, like you would with a pocket knife (think about it you would not use a katana to trim your nails) the second small knife is the schamack (supposed to be dull) it if used to sharpen the other blades. Good steel sharpens steel. think about the time and love that is pst into sharpening the kukri by rubbing steel on steel. these. things are done by tradition. At a festival for a village in Nepal (home of the Ghurka) i saw the towns headman, cut a rams head off with one swing. so don't. throw the little knives away sharpen the karda and kukri with the shamack, you will step bak in time and see the love and commitment. it truly takes you back in time,and teaches what an. Honorit is to own and use apiece of history.

This was the first ever Knife that I bought from BUDK and it is amazing. Very reliable, and has not failed on me. It is a little dull and the two little knives that come with it aren't to good. But for the price, it's worth it.

this knife is amazing my gf got it for me for my b-day and i convinced her to give it to me a few months earlier. i love it its actually next to me while i write this review. it has a amazing sheathe the two accessory knives are S**t but they arent meant to use they are a sharpener of sorts. the big knife is amazing dosent come sharp but has solid construction none the less the edge even thought its dull still hold up well. i sharpened mine to a razors edge and now its amazing i love it thanks budk.

A great knife for the price. Thick and heavy, feels very solid overall. I had read the other reviews, so I knew what to expect. The two little knives are a joke, I didn't bother to sharpen those. The kuk however, wasn't too tough to put a nice edge onto. And watch out for the black stuff on the sheath. But other than that I love it, just takes a bit of work is all. And it goes great as a costume piece for Bronn from Game of Thrones. Thanks BUDK.

Had a laugh at Dean from Mo. Of course they are dull as stumps. These are for show. If you want to use them, sharpen them. Most of these knives in here come dull. As far as the little knives that come along with them, that also is for show. If you want them sharp, sharpen them also. I realize that they are simply put in a stick, but who cares, The large knife looks amazing when it is out. I'd recommend any of them to anyone. They look great. This company is great with everything they have.

Yes, it arrives dull as a tennis ball but with a little work a perfectly adequate edge can be achieved. The feel is great and the quaintly rustic look is very appealing to me. I talked with a Ghurka military cop in Hong Kong several years ago and this knife looks very much like his issued khukiri. I like it so well that I intended to get at least one more for that reason alone.

Ok, fantastic knife, comes as dull as a 2x4 but its high carbon steel, it holds an edge once you get one on there. The sheath is rather rubbish though. I knew that was comming though, the black finish on the sheath washes right off, but that gives it a worn look. Although i will probably be making a sheath for this knife on my own. There are munor touch ups i made to the knofe, but very simple fixes. All in all, i do infact like this knife quite a bit!!!!!

In a word, this knife is durable. It's got a thick blade and a decent edge for chopping. A little honing makes it a perfect accessory for the outdoors. The extra two knives that come with it are useless, but the main blade and sheath are very well built. The belt loop is separate. It slides up the main sheath and is ambidextrous. This is a knife made for use.

The reason it comes dull is because it is a spiritual artifact. The act of sharpening the blades binds the soul of the warrior with the spirit of the blade. The acc.knives are quite usefull for many things. Watch a Ghurka "question" someone with them, and then calmly make lunch with them, or put them between his fingers and make a fist and use them as punch knives and you will never again doubt their usefulness. My grandfather served with them in the Second World War, and the ghurkas were theonlytroops thAt scared him. They would sneer into enemy camps on the night of no moon completely naked except their Kubrick with one hand extended andtheblade held at their shoulder, if they touched someone wearing clothes, they killed.

This knife is pretty darn solid, i bought it as a diy survival knife and it did not disappoint, and for all of those who claim the small knives are useless, strike em against a ferro rod, they make the best spark i have ever gotten off of one

The sheath is goatskin covered wood. Two tie wraps around the belt loop make it stay upright. Sharpening: They arrive dull! But, once sharp, hold a good edge! The small knives: One is NOT a Knife, but, is a hard sharpening steel to maintain the Kukri edge! The other is OK for small camp chores or trimming a callous! Bought TWO, and found that each fit best in the other sheath! Check out the tutorial on how to paracord the handles! These are good value! Great tool for working in swamps!

this is a very nice knife if you know how to sharpen it luckily for me I know how to I bought 3 kukris one for me one for my Dad and one for my little brother just like on the previous comments they come with no edge whatsoever a butter knife is razor sharp compered to these beasts but I didn't let that get in the way I was able to put a very scary edge on mine and my Dad's kukri with a vary cores bastard file a small light cores file and two sharpening steels 600 and 1000 grit I haven't given a scary edge on my brothers kukri because I want him to learn how to sharpen it for him self anyway its very very durable knife it holds an edge very well even a scary razor sharp edge its got nice weight to it 2.lbs I had to exchange one of the kukris (before sharpening) because it was very crooked from the spine it like a snake and the blade was very unaligned (twisted) the sheath needed some miner fixing it just needed some zip ties on the belt loop to the sheath to keep it from falling after that you can were it all day great home defense tool and zombie killer if you want a great kukri at a low price get this one you wont regret it

this knife is actually quite legit, you can see where the hammerblows have left the blade almost but not perfectly flat. the blade is carbon steel, so have some oil on the blade when storing it. it does come rather dull but not a huge setback. after chopping a sizeable enough log. also this knife is a huge knife and will do the job. the two other knives are useless unless you sharpen them, but the same could be said about the kukri. i've had my kukri for at least 6 months and would recomend this knife to people who does want function over exquisite craftmanship. there were a few defects in the handle and buttplate but nothing that is going to take away from the effectivness. the sheath also tends to flop around unless you make another peice of leather hold the upper part of the sheath as well, enjoy your huge knife

This thing is a beast! Very good quality; you could throw this thing under a freight train, and it'd come out unscathed. Only problem is it comes EXTREMELY dull, so be prepared to spend quite some time on it.

BEYOND EXCELLENT!!! i would give this 10 stars if i could. the Kukri i got comes unsharped but in pristine condition and with oil onto the blade and with two other little blades and and a sheath. i just learned that those little blades are use for sharpening the Kukri. i think that is good for one to take time in sharpening their own blade, because if one takes the time to sharpen your blade, then you develop a closeness to your weapon. for those that dont know anything about the Kukri.Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. I have been looking for a mid-sized blade to have while going trail hiking and exploring in the woods to help me clear paths/branches etc. I love learning about the history of the Gurkha Soldiers and their reputation for knife fighting efficiency so this Kukri immediately caught my attention. I purchased this Kukri a few weeks ago and have been using it extensively in the outdoors since then. It has held up very well to my abuse and I am very happy with the purchase! The traditional wood handle is extremely comfortable and thick. The weight of this knife is very impressive. Since this full tang weapon is about 2.5 to 3 pounds you will need a little bit of strength to use it comfortably for long periods of time. You will notice that the blade functions similarly to a hatchet, thus it is excellent for chopping and hacking. The carbon steel blade comes completely dull, so keep in mind that along with this purchase you will have to put in a little bit of extra work to bring the blade up to its full potential. But do not worry! It is not difficult. I gave the blade a razor sharp edge in about 45 minutes of work. I used a "Flat Bastard" metal file ($6) followed by a 2 sided sharpening stone (about $4). First use the file to cut away at the metal and create the rough edge. Next use the rough-grit side of the sharpening stone to even the burrs out. Lastly use the smooth side of the stone to shine and smooth-out the edge. You can buy these items at any home improvement store. To summarize, this is a heavy duty blade that once sharpened, will be fully functional in any outdoorsman/camping/hunting pack and can even be used to chop mid-sized trees down as well as fire wood. It is very sturdy and well constructed. The sheath is very nice. It is internally made of wood and wrapped in what I believe is Goat Leather (Genuine). While you do have to sharpen it, I enjoyed creating my own edge and you will too! Buy it and have fun!

I own a bunch of Kukris, but this became my instant favorite by far. Handle is much more comfortable than it looks, the sheath is awesome, and knife is well-made. You wont be disappointed - get it!

I bought this kukri a while ago now and it has yet to let me down. I got it before summer vacation and the shipping was fantastic. Got here two days before I expected and surprised me. I got it out of the box and to my surprise, there was no edge whatsoever on this machete. I sent my shop teacher a message, and he put a flawless, razor-sharp edge on it and I haven't looked back. I've taken this on three camping trips so far, hacked up plenty of firewood and brush. The first use, I cut a seven inch thick tree down, turned back, and threw it at a tree about nine feet away and it stuck in perfect. You will not be disappointed if you buy this Kukri. What are you waiting for?

Wow. This is a massive knife - 17" long when measured along the curve, and 16 and 7/8" long when measured straight from butt to tip. Thickness: 1/4" in the handle, tapering a bit to 3/16" for most of the blade. The hardwood handle is larger than in most Khukuri I've seen. I have big hands and it's almost too large for me to get a good grip on. The steel butt cap is welded to the full tang and would provide a hefty hit if needed. Sheath is traditional wood wrapped in goat leather. Arrived quickly, very lightly oiled (just the blade, not the handle or sheath) and totally un-sharpened. The two smaller blades were there, about 4" blades each; I gave them to my kids since I'll use a file and stone for sharpening and have something better for skinning. Much heavier and more well-made than I expected. Very pleased with this purchase!

I gave it 5 stars, because it is an impressive knife for the price. I believe it is made from leaf springs, a good grade of steel. I saw similar in the Philippines, made by the tribal people from abandoned WWII Jeep leaf springs. Expect to do some work on it. Mine had no edge, and heavy spots of wood stain on the blade. A filing and sharpening with a carbide, and then a ceramic sharpener, gave it a sharp edge. I used a metal cleaner to clean the blade up, and a polishing cloth to get the excess stain off the handle. It took some time, but was well worth it. The 2 small knifes are worthless. I couldn't even hold the 1/2" handles well enough to work on the blades. They got trashed. I bought a kukuri machete from BUDK and was impressed with how well it cleared a path. It cut down small trees, almost as easy as a hand axe. The size and thickness of this blade makes it chop like an axe, while the narrower portions of the blade at the front and back will take care of any other cutting needs.

I've had my kukri around six years now and still enjoy owning and using it. I just wanted to let it be known that the two utility knives are just that. They were designed of different steel enabling them to be used for sharpening the kukri blade or striking a steel for starting a fire. Among their many other uses. Enjoy.

i am Very impressed with this purchase.<br />for $20, i did not expect this kind of craftsmanship. <br /><br />The Kukri- Heavy (not too heavy), sturdy, brutal and just overall awesome in every way. <br />And this may not mean much to most people, <br />but i hate buying a knife, and then turning it over to see "CHINA", or "INDONESIA" ect. posted in bold letters at the base of the blade, it always bugs me, but this is not the case with this knife. <br />its not sharp but thats often a given when buying knives online. And id prefer to put the edge on it myself anyway.<br /><br />The Smaller knives - I hear a lot of people that complain that they are useless, or that they throw them away because they serve no purpose. In reality, one is meant to be kept dull, for sharpening the kukri and striking flint for fire. And the other is meant to be kept sharp as a utility/skinning knife.<br /><br />The Sheath- it is SO much more sturdy and well crafted than i expected. my only complaint is that there was a small pea-sized patch of goat skin pealed off of the wood structure of the sheath, but im certain it was caused by the fact that it was packed with a bundle of other items.. nobodies fault really, as it was well packaged.<br /><br />5 out of 5<br />ill be using this while camping in remote areas, so yes i would say i trust its structure to hold up in a stressed/survival environment.

A great buy, heavy blade for 20 bucks. You cant find anything this good for 3 times the money. Had to sharpen. Holds a great edge. Little knifes mmmmmm pretty much useless, but with sanding and sharpening use as skinners for small game. Over all just a great knife.

This knife came pretty much as I expected. Appears to be hand made from old leaf springs. Something which I was looking for. Those springs were made of some good carbon steel. It wasn't sharp and needed a little TLC to bring it up to par. I polished the blade and sharpened it. The less than perfect tang steel shows blemishes , which I think gives it character. The sheath needs to be wiped with Johnson's paste wax or similar to remove any excess black dye. Not a problem. All in all I think it's a h*** of a bargain. It now resides on my mantle and gets a lot of attention. Can't beat it for the price, if your willing to invest a little time.

Great blades, I had ordered two of then some time ago and was very impressed with the kurkris. However one of the handles had chips and nicks in the handle, it was not a problem I just used some wood putty to fill the nicks in and then some wood stain to cover them up. Also the scabbard is not glued so I did this myself and painted it black,other than that a great buy for $20. I use them for martial arts training.

Alright, so I ordered this knife two days ago and it arrived today! Very fast shipping, I was quite pleased. The knife itself is great! The two smaller knives are borderline useless. The sheath is pretty good, I like it. One complaint is that the belt loop itself is not attached to the sheath. The kukri does not arrive very sharp, but I ordered the lansky puck with it so I was able to give it an edge in no time!

This is the Most sturdy Kukri that I own its Great for any bug out bag or for hunting. I cut a 6 inch tree trunk down in 3 mins with this kukri and not even a chip in the blade. The sheath is okay and this kukri comes with two extra knives a Modified clip point/bowie type blade and a normal clip pointish blade. Over all 5 out of 5 stars, Thanks BUDK :D

This is one of my favorite knives, well worth the money. Just spend the time to put a better edge on it and your good to go. Comes with a great wood core leather covered sheath and is full tang carbon steel. I might pick up a spare at this price but expect that this knife will last a very long time. It's fairly thick and makes a good chopper too.

This kukri is amazing. The picture captures its greatness perfectly but it has some minor flaws. Like the accessory knives (of course just read the other reviews) honestly they are crap no edge what so ever but I didn't get the d**n thing for them and one thing that p****d me off was I saw they etched India on the blade it was sloppy writing also. This is my favorite item on BUDK. It looks great and is super sturdy, as well as heavy. It comes mildly sharp and the extra two knives are really lame. It has a really nice sheath though. This knife is well worth twenty dollars.

Heavy, axe like and can be sharpened to a razor edge with some work. Holds an edge fairly well with heavy use and this knife was heavily used in the hills of the Dominican Republic for 4 years as a sheath knife/axe. I even "blued" the blade for personal use. Handle has held up over 22 years of use without cracking. I use either gun oil or any light oil on it once a year (vegetable oil works just fine) and keep it with my emergency/camping gear now. It may not be the prettiest knife in your collection, but it will last generations with a little care. Worth the investment.

I ordered and recieved this Kukri recently, and i love it. It wasn't perfect, and the sheath and field knives that come with it are pretty junky, but i didn't order it for the little stuff. The Kukri itself is more that worth the price, even if you do have to put the finishing touches on it yourself. After ordering this Kukri, i have ordered many more items from BudK, and i am satisfied with every order i have placed. You really cant beat BudK's low prices.

well this was made in india were the gurkhas are from and the blade is incredible the blade was moderate sharp, but hey you can sharpen it yourself, come on? it is crazy cheap, by the way the side knives were tools for eating, field surgery, skinning and in some cases assassination, i'm not saying there the work horse or anything but they were of great use, 11 outta 10 good job budk!!!

It's not ugly but any other company would have called this a factory second. <br />dull is not the word. Come on India - change some laws - ship stuff sharp. I ordered a new accusharp with it but still it's going to take forever to get it sharp. <br /><br />Overall <br />Personally I love the rustic, rugged, imperfect but 1000 percent functional vibe of this knife. Not everyone would agree with it but there you go. I wish I didn't have to spend all day sharpening it.

I gave this 5 stars as this thing is a beast! It is so much bigger then I thought it would be. It is very strong. It does not have the fit and finish of a cold steel. But this thing is perfect for a camp tool. (a real work horse) It did not come with an edge. But even so I went out and pruned my willow tree the way it came. The sheath is not to modern standards, but then again this is not a modern design. I like it and it will do everything I call on it to do.

Just received my kukri in the mail and was really impressed with the thickness of the blade and quality of the construction. This heavy duty knife will bring many years of service and is built to work. The blade did need some polishing and sharpening when I received it though. Also, not sure if the accessory knives were properly matched one is supposed to be sharp the other dull high carbon steel. Both of these were dull. Still 5/5 though.

The Kukri can either be used as a fighting knife or as a machete. The accessory knives are meant to do small utilities, like cleaning your fingernails, but for the most part they are useless. The sheath could be better, but it is in fact what the mercenaries in India or wherever use. The blade is nice and thick, and after you sharpen it, it holds an edge very well. Also, if you mess around with the knife enough, you can get to where you can throw it and it will stick into your target accurately and consistently. The weight and curve of the blade makes for immense slicing power, but stabbing and piercing is not its main use.

this is by far the best deal i've gotten on bud k. For 20 dollars i wasn't expecting much but when it showed up i was like "wow how much did i pay i thought it said $20" yet the 2 accessory knifes are total garbage the main knife makes up for it. I say just by the knife, you wont regret it!!

This is one hefty kukri. As some have said it will need to be sharpened but I went to a site to see exactly how to sharpen this kind of knife and after that it was a breeze to do and it sharpened up so nice that I can shave the hair right off my arm! My friends have been impressed with it too. I've used it as a machete and it cuts through brush and small branches like butter. Bought this because of the reviews and I'm writing this to say YES, they are accurate. Gurkha Kukri came wrapped in plastic, but no harm done to the knife. You need to wipe it up and clean it, but it looks pretty nice after. Blade is very thick, in both width and thickness. Comes extremely dull, but that's good if you're like me and prefer to put the edge on a weapon. I would give it a 4/5 because the 2 extra knives are a waste of time and the sheath is not that great, however, this Kukri is awesome and those things just can't drag it down. 5/5: If I were in a jungle, I'd want this knife!

It is a great bargain for a good basic kukri. The only thing is you will need access to a grinding wheel to get the blade evened out and will then need a good sharpening. But that still makes the knife a great bargain. You would easily pay 3 times as much for one sharpened.

I set out searching for one good knife that could overcome any situation.The Gurkha Kukri is the one!Along with my dog,my knife is with me on every hiking trip....just in case!This knife has cut down just about every kind of tree around my area.And the one time my buddies hatchet wouldnt puncture breathing holes in an old water trough,(for a burn barrel),I ceased the moment and ran to my truck retreiving my knife.He said he did not want to ruin my blade.I assured him that i could fix it should it be needed.The knife peirced and even slashed through the galvanized tank with ease.My buddy was silent but i could see the amazement in his eyes!A few minutes with rasp and steel and my knife was restored to its full potential.I've personalized mine with furniture tacks and checkering on the handle and won't feel right with any other blade on my side!

I ordered this because it was advertised as 1/4" thick, I think it's closer to 3/16", definitely thinner than my 1/4" Western Outlaw Timber Rattler. It has a crude fit and finish, some bad hotspots, and came completely dull, blunt actually, and the 2 little blades are practically paper thin and pretty much just tiny toys. Having said all that, I'm still glad I bought this knife, it IS a good deal, and already held up to some batoning even in its blunt state. I wrapped the handle (solved hotspots), will sharpen the edge (solves dullness), don't care about the little toy side knives (didn't buy it for that), and despite the very handmade look of the fit and finish, it's actually quite beautiful at the same time, and does feel very sturdy and strong. I believe it will last a long time, and it's EASILY worth more than $25. ~dan

I bought this kukri about over 2 years ago. I was amazed by the overall size and thickness of the blade. I also appreciate the inclusion of the Karda and Chakmak, as they are very important to the origins of the kukri. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a sharpened blade, same with the Karda. It also would've been nice make the blade out of stainless steel rather than high carbon steel because it would be less prone to rust I believe(not an expert on knives by the way), as mine began to rust a few weeks after I used it on a jug of water and cleaned it off but the that could be my fault. But to sum it up, this is definitely worth the price of $20.

I got this as a Christmas present and I'm very pleased. The good things about this are the thickness of the steel and its construction. You get a good quarter inch of decent carbon steel and it's put together very solid. This thing is tough as nails. The bad parts are the fit and finish and it has no edge. Personally, I like the crude fit and finish, but I put that as a negative because most people don't. It looks like it was put together in a primitive workshop. It gives it a very rustic look to me. The small utility knife and sharpening steel are pathetic and useless. The scabbard serves the purpose, but looks like it's old and worn out. It kind of matches the blade. All in all, if you give it an edge it's an extremely durable and somewhat crude looking workhorse.

My first impression when unboxing this knife is it's heft, solid thick steel blade of decent hardness and overall finish is quite rough, I reprofile the edge to be a extremely sharp convex edge using a cheap harbor freight belt sander, the result was a hefty knife that chops like a beaver on steroids! The smaller knives that it comes with are for sharpening they may not look much but they are hardened steel strips that are used to maintain the edge like a sharpening steel and worked well enough to restore the edge to paper slicing sharp! The belt strap has to be secured with para cord on the sheath or else it will just feel like a weight strapped to your belt.

Hefty. It'll be nasty when it's sharp. It's taking a lot of work to get an edge without a wheel. Tip of the blade had a small ding but it will get sharpened away. I discarded the 2 small blades. I felt they weren't safe because the handles were too small. You might find them useful... one more star if it had come at least semi-sharpened.

The Kukri was as advertised....Yes the blades were not sharp,but that is o.k.for 20.00 I knew it would be a project piece. Took about 2hrs to get an edge...now is razor sharp. Used a dremel tool, then small files, then the stones. The good thing is that you have some good carbon steel to work with, not this junky, soft stainless that is in most knives now...Rick

a solid knife, the chakmak or the thicker one is used for sharpening the big blade, the Karda, other small one is used like a house hold paring knife! the Chakmak is supposed to be dull! the Karda and big blade need to be sharpened, I use my knife roughly and have to sharpen after every use, being made carbon steel coat with light oil before storing! A little history the Gurka regiments serve in the Indian Army also

Excellent tough kukri. I love this thing. It is dull when it arrives which is a shame, but 10minutes on a bench grinder will easily be sharp enough to cut wood. Very thick steel. Comes covered in grease, so be careful when opening it it isn't going to touch your carpet or clothes or anything nice.

Ive used a lot of knives and khuks too. This was my first Khuk and I loved it once I customised the grip and sharpened the 1/4" blade- thickest blade I had used til then. Recommended MillBastard file to get edge sharp, these days Id put it on the 1" belt-sander. Made in Dehra Dun, India by Windlass Forges, large weapon factory. The sheath was goatskin-covered wood, which promply smashed when the first sapling I cut down landed on it. Not to worry, I made another from thick leather. This style has been in use by troops in India since ww2. Have one just like this, British "broad Arrow" marked. Me and that khuk went a long way together until I gave her to an old friend who collects knives. Still have one on my wall, all ready to go! Something to remember, these knives are differentially tempered- the big belly is harder than the rest of the knife. A thinner edge from the belly to the point makes for a very sharp knife while the rear blade I sharpen with a fatter edge more like an ax edge. You won't regret getting this knife, remember you may want to refigure the grip with sander or some epoxy, or even friction tape. I have larger, smaller and prettier khukris, but this is a good 12-inch blade "beginner" model to learn the ropes on. Do some googling and youll find a wealth of info to learn ya how to use your new weapon/tool. Good luck and welcome to the brotherhood, so to speak! Dun

This is a hefty blade. The two small ones are throw aways. They shouldn't even be mentioned. The sheath is better than I expected from reading the other reviews. It looks hand made, as the knife does. It came almost as sharp as a Twinkie, but with some work it seems like it will take a pretty good edge.

I read all the reviews prior to buying this Kukri, and it arrived well packaged and with no edge. The fit and finish was good for a "working" blade. I am taking it to be professionally sharpened and from what I can tell of the hardness of the blade it should do well for what I bought it for. That is a close quarters combat knife.

The good points: It appears to be as well made as other versions costing $20 more. I don't count the accessory knifes because they have always been useless. What did appall me was that the blade was DULL, and I am an amateur sharpener at best ... still haven't gotten a passable edge on it. Other purchases from BudK have arrived razor sharp and ready to go. Guess I'll have to stick with older, rustier Kukris that did arrive sharp and have never really lost their edge, until I come up with a way to get this new beast honed and work-ready.

The main knife (kukri) is a well made quantity knife.however the two smaller knives appear as almost a second Thought and are very poorly made practically useless.

This kukri is a well built knife and with the price being that low, I had to try it. I put this knife through H**l ( after the HOURS of sharpening it) I threw it, I cut down small trees, cut 2x4's,and dug a hole with this. The small knives are square and have no edge, the are light and they serve really no purpose they are truly accessory knives. Had the knife been full tang and sharp out of the box, it would receive all 5 stars.

I was a little hesitant about purchasing this kukri due to the low price on the item. That fear quickly dissolved when the knife arrived at my doorstep. It did come dull and will take lots of honing but it is very sturdy and of quality steel. I settled on this kukri because of the blade thickness. It is around a 1/4 inch thick and once sharpened will be a super cutter for sure. The little knives that come with it are of course a joke, horribly bent and assembled but good for a laugh if anything. The sheath is actually decent and I am happy with it as well. If you have the patience to sharpen, pick one up. A great value for the money and you will not be dissapointed.

This knife is well worth the money and is very thick, heavy, and has a quality feel. The two mini knives are junk and I just threw them away. The kukri blade was blunt and dull so for the first sharpening you may want to take it to a knife shop and spend a few extra dollars to initially put a proper professional edge on it. After that is done this knife is perfect for all kinds of uses. Only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 was because it was dull out of the box and the two mini knives were just useless novelties to trash. I'm thinking about buying another one.

Great knife system. Heavy cleaver blade with the power of a battle ax, plus two small blades for close quarters work with a razor edge. Proper skillful sharpening is required.very impressive weapon and very good value.

The shape and weight of this knife is in every respect impressive. The knife comes dull and will require a bit of time finishing the edge. the final product is good and well worth the twenty dollar cost. A knife that leaves an impression on anyone who see it.

To start this review off, Amazing Shipping. The packaged shiped, traveled and arrived in exactly a week, and came nicely packaged. I was impressed with the fast transaction and very satisfied. Now onto the Kukri, the blade itself is well constructed for a $20 price (plus shipping) and being Full tang makes this thing sturdy and not likely to break after a few swings. Its a beautiful knife, however it is no Kuhkuri house Kukri, but for the price, you won't find a more beautiful or well crafted blade. Out of the box, it was not nearly as sharp as I was hoping for, but nothing a sharping stone can't fix. The small knives serve little purpose outside of skinning small game, or if you like to carve small wooden animals on camping trips (they to could use sharpining). Over all, I give it 4/5 rating. lacking one only because its not as sharp as I would have liked. Buy this blade if you A. love Kukris and don't want to spend a hefty price, B. want a amazing looking blade to you're collection. or C. like me know the zombie apacolypse is on its way and need a melee weapon that will do the job like a boss! I mainly bought this kukri because it bares a decent resemblance to the kukri used by the Sniper from Team Fortress 2. I wasn't expecting it to be so well constructed at only $20. What truly blew me away was the sheath, when they said it was high-quality, they weren't kidding! It is made out of very thick, hard leather that I honestly believe could knock somebody out with the kukri inside. The kukri itself however is very dull, but thick and heavy enough to swing through flimsier targets with the right swing. I'd recommend taking a whet stone to it, but expect it to take hours and hours to get a decent edge. Good value, very durable. The only downside is the dullness of the blade off the bat and the fixed blades are completely useless.

ok ordered this 24 hours ago and now i got it how great is that. if you are looking for a real Kuhkri then get this one it is a lot better than most i have seen. and its bigger than you think the picture dos not do it justice. it needed a little sharping but that ok. now the two little knifes that come with it are useless unless you grind a edge to them and use them as punchers. the sheath is great.

the two small accessory knives are worthless. just a rough cut piece of steel topped off by a piece of wood. the main knife was nice and solid all it was missing was a sharp edge. hefty steel in would take the top off any head even without a sharp edge

For $20 you get a hefty, functional knife that will perform many camping and other outdoor chores with ease, after a good sharpening. Can do everything a machete does, plus split wood, chop thicker branches, and other jobs where a machete blade is just too thin. This knife is made in India; "genuine"khukuris are made in Nepal. Still, it is a good value for a hand-made knife. The blade is about 3/16" thick. A genuine Nepal-made khukuri of the same length would have a blade almost twice as thick. Even so, the blade is still quite thick and heavy and allows the knife to be used for many of the same tasks as a hatchet. (Note that Nepal vendors of the knives prefer the spelling "khukuri" as it is phonetically close to the actual pronunciation. "Kukri" in Nepal actually sounds more like their word for a hen!

Good blade, very thick and sturdy. Very warped, though, and the sheath takes a lot of strength to use. Not very sharp out of the box. The accessory knives are bollocks, throw them out. This blade was made for combat, and it shows a lot of potential. If you are preparing for zombie apocalypse, buy this. Use it correctly, and you get an instant kill. I highly suggest this weapon. For $20, it is an amazing deal.

This is by far the highest quality item I've ever received from BudK; however, the condition that you receive your kukri in is just disgusting! I ordered 2 kukri from BudK and they literally arrived in plastic bags with no box. When I opened the bags both kukris were completly wet with both knife oil and sloppy wood varnish that took an hour or so to clean off. also the sheaths they arrive with are really good! except for some reason to make them black they coated the material in boot polish! getting black on your hands while using their sheaths is completely unavoidable so I had to throw away both of them and stitch my own nylon sheath. However this knife is so amazing it was worth the hour of work to clean it and also worth the boot polish sheath and mini knives that were obviously made in 2 seconds. still a good buy but make sure you open it over a towel to keep your floor clean.

I bought my Ghurka 5 years ago for the display aspect of it. Overall a great piece of steel, thick, carbon steel that sharpened nicely. The sheath is an original design, made like the original. I compared this knife and sheath to an original being sold at a gun and knife show by a dealer from India. He commented this was a true representation of his country's creation.

Good Stuff:<br />Good solid blade with a full tang and good balance. I feel like I could take this thing into the woods and whale away at trees, spend some time chopping firewood, etc and not run a risk of breaking it. Real wood handle too.<br /><br />Bad Stuff:<br />Well, nothing comes sharpened and the craftsmenship is less than perfect. The blade is pretty much fine, but the handle, while certainly tough-looking, isn't very finely made. Still, we aren't talking about a museum piece, so I'm fairly pleased nonetheless. Oh, and the little blades are junk. They're just pieces of unsharpened sheet metal attached to small pieces of wood.<br /><br />Conclusion:<br />The big one is a good blade, rugged and made to last. However, not so hot with the little knives or overall craftmenship. Still, the big one is well worth the $20 in my opinion. I give this one a good rating.

The above reviewer is right. I have had mine for some time. Personally I sharpened and polished mine for display. It came with two fantastic utility blades fitted in the sheath. These are small chore blades, (these are what the full size Kukri look like fresh out of the egg!) Great quality, although my days of working the US Forest service and needing a tree chopper are gone. This would make a fantastic hunting blind chopper. I highly recommend this one. God bless.

The knife came in today I was happy with the look and feel of the kukuri. But it can't cut warm butter know edge was put on it witch was iratating. To buy a cutting tool that won't cut. I'll be putting and edge on it my self. But a knife that says it's a Gurkha kukuri you wou think it would need and edge.

The blade weighs in at 24.5 ounces, it was very dull but sharpens up. I used a 1 inch belt sander for sharpening this blade, started with 80 grit, yes 80 and ended with 1000 grit. Holds an edge fairly well the fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired the wood slabs one side being longer than the other by 3/16 of an inch.among other things, The blade also has a considerable twist in it, This will be used for a tool, chopping etc, and it does pretty well quite a bit of heft. What more needs to be said its $20.00 fun to use

I do love this knife but I was under the impression that it would have been sharpened. The kukri has no edge on it to sharpen so you have to use a grinding wheel on it. I'm honestly not impressed with the knife, it would be better if it had a edge lol

The knife came very dull and the two smaller knives were a joke, they looked as if 5 year old crudely cut them out of sheet steel. After several hours of sharpening, it is a great knife for the price and feels awesome in the hand.

Overall its a good purchase-a nice thick blade. You'll need to sharpen it- but that's ok. What you should know is that the two little knives are completely useless, and it looks like they didn't even try to make them into blades at all, pretty much threw some scrap metal into a little piece of wood. ALSO- BEWARE the sheath- if you touch it it will leave black sh** all over your hands. It took me about 30 minutes to clean it enough so that every time i touched it my hands wouldn't need to be thoroughly washed. Still worth it though.

great blade if u don't mind the sharpening process it is dull and the karda and chakmak both need a lot of finishing work the scabbard is poor smelly leather it probably would have been fine but i removed it and customized mine any ways it chops well once sharpened same with karda and the chakmak i made into a good multipurpose tool for flint striking a flat head screw driver and if chopping and blade begins to lame out it dose really work to quickly touch up the blade with a few controlled passes of it. i like the hole deal it is customizable O and the wood on the handle wiggles a little when chopping ill get to changing that though soon enough i will soon order another for my wife or brother they are so f-ing badass.

Overall the kuhkri is good quality. The blade comes blunt and without bends. The handle is great except for a section of the bottom end where some of the pommel metal is a little unsmooth and scratchy. it can be annoying. The sheath is my least favorite part. It might be just mine, but The blade only went in once, and not easily. I took it back out with some effort and then tried to re-sheath it. not it doesnt go in all the way, 2 inches of the blade are left out of the sheath. I do not know if I should try returning it, or hollow it out again. I believe putting the blade in pushed some loose wood shavings to the back of the sheath and compressed it into a solid, so check your sheath carefully when it arrives.

Their was no edge on any peace that came It will take about any hour and a half to put a good edge on it though. Also the tip was very far from a point when I received it. I was disappointed when I saw all of these problems, I guess expecting a knife to have any kind of edge on it is to much. But aside from that I like everything else about it.

I collect knives and use them as well. This one can go either way,display or use. Seems like it would be average in durability. It did come very dull and the 2 small knives,which I am unsure of their purpose had no edge at all. I actually got the 2 little guys sharp very easy on a bench grinder then stone. The kukri I had to take a file to then sharpening stone. I got it fairly sharp now. It does seem to hold the edge well. It is not quarter inch thick as described, but is beefy and heavy. Sheath will be ok too once I reinforce it some. Overall a good buy for the price.

the blade is awesome its heavy and durable i juggle with it and it gets dropped often the sheath is another story it is the worst sheath i have ever owned. I threw the sheath out and kept the blade its a pretty good buy.

the accessory knives are useless and in my case incomplete, though the kukri itself is durable enough and of good enough quality though after looking at the customer service, I read that all blades not marked as razor sharp or as a false edge should arrive with at least a slight edge, which the kukri and the legend of Zelda crest, which were both not marked as false edged or razor sharp, came with no semblance of an edge at all

This is a DIY kukri , it comes without an edge of any kind, but it is carbon steel, and full tang. the sheath and accessories knives are crap.

This is a good machette, or else a great medium blade to have fun with, It will take a while to sharpen - mine came duller than a 2x4.. but still fun to play with. the shielth is very well made.

used this knife for some batoning to make kindling , the pommel fell off on the first hit . once i looked it over i could see the tang was not peened over at all . the knife has been in my truck for months and this was the first time i used it , so the 60 day return has passed and im left with a broken knife.

The example I received was dull to the point of having about 1/16 inch wide edge. The blade was also badly warped and the handle was off center and there was a gap between the scales and the tang. Not even worth trying to work on and fix.

I just got my kukri today. I read the reviews, so I knew there would be no blade, so I figured it might be fun sharpening it up and honing it myself. It came oiled up, but there was so much oil that it was soaking thru the box. I was surprised and kinda disappointed when I looked at the sheath. The top of it, where you insert the blade, looked dirty and ragged, like it had been sitting on a floor in a warehouse for a few years. The little knives are extremely sad looking too. They're ugly little things with scrapes and chunks gouged out of them. The redeeming thing about this is that the kukri itself seems good and solid, and I'm betting it's going to be a beautiful, strong knife once I'm done cleaning and sharpening it. Despite its flaws, this kukri should turn out to be a nice blade to add to my collection.

I received my kukri yesterday and the blade is extremely warped and will not even fit into the sheath. i would not recommend buying this kukri it was a waste of time and money. I would ask for a refund or for budk to ship a new one but I would have to pay shipping and handling, which is ridiculous.

I've gotten some super deals from BUDK, but this ain't one of 'em! OK, we know we ain't gonna get TOTAL perfection for $20, but this thing is truly pitiful; it's probably the most poorly crafted hunk of steel & wood that EVER pretended to call itself a knife! Uneven grind on the blade that looks like a drunk that never made a knife did it: there's no taper on the wavy bumpy crooked sides, varying width being closer to 3/16" than 1/4"; crudely fitted handle slabs sloppily filled with generous globs of putty to hide the huge gaps; sheath colored with some sort of non-colorfast stain-your-hands black dye that HAS to be removed (45 min of hard work!); and the "accessory knives" a cruel joke, two pieces of thin rusty sheet metal that beg to be tossed in the garbage! And, it comes totally dull; sharpening required. If you want a GOOD knife for $20, grab the awesome Western Outlaw Bowie & forget this piece of trash.

This is not a Genuine Kukri, A Genuine Kukri does not look like this one and cost a lot more and furthermore there has been a lot of comments on the small knives that come with it, obviously folks do not know the meaning or history for use. The two small knifes have use, one is for honing,Sharpening the Kukri and the other one is for small task like preparing wild game or fine work with wood processing. Some folks just need to get a clue

first the two little knifes are a joke! it looks like someone just ruff cut a piece of tin in the shape of a knife, but has no edge and has pits all over them. as far as the kukri it would be nice if it were sharpened. there is no sharp edge at all it is a flat blunt end! all three had some sticky substance all over them!

I debated between ordering this and a real kukuri from Nepal for 2.5X the money. I should have bought the real one. This one is SOOOO crudely made! As others have said, it cames with NO edge at all, the 2 small knives are not sharp either and totally look like crap. The handle on the big knife is just barely carved into the shape of a handle, looks like a 5 year old made it. I was very tempted to return it but not worth the hassle. Honestly after seeing the lack of quality I will probably never buy from budk again.

I purchased a Gurkha Kukri and was very disappointed upon examination upon receipt . The knife was flat and had no edge whatsoever. The description in your catalogue made no mention that this was just an “ornamental†Gurkha Kurki. My interest is is in genuine replicas of these traditional knives. If I had any inclination that this was not a reasonable facsimile then I would not have pursued the purchase. In addition the description in the catalogue of a “High-Quality Leather Sheath†is not accurate. Also, the “Two Accessory Fixed Blade Knives†displayed in the catalogue are not even close to scale based on the visual in the aforementioned catalogue. Finally, the “Handle†has sharp metal edges and protrusions that require filing to hold without discomfort. I have purchased from your company several times previously with satisfaction.

I'm extremely disappointed with this knife. It looks like a 2 year old cut the small knives & glued them to a piece of a wooden dowel. The kurki itself has no edge & still has a square edge on the last half inch of the tip of the blade. I could let a kid play with it with out fear of them getting cut. The sheath also looks horrible. But at least it holds everything in pretty tight. It does have a good weight to it though, so I'll see how well it keeps its edge once I put one on it. Get this if you want a fixer upper. severely
