Product Description
The uniquely styled blade features three edges in total thanks to the wide, slanted tip design. The entire blade is covered with intricate engravings and makes a striking impression once unsheathed.
Translating the inscription would be very difficult. The language is called "Thahindi" and was created by the writer/director of the movie, Kurt Wimmer. Supposedly, Mila Jovovich learned the language as she speaks it, or, at least a few phrases of it during the movie. Contacting Mr. Wimmer and asking for a translation, or, an alphabet, vocabulary and grammar would be the only way to find out what the inscription means.

The engraving is really cool, but it is heavy. It feels like it can be use more like a executioners sword rather to use in a battle field. I kind of wish it was more the size of the one in the movie. But this piece is a looker and well do well in my man cave.

This sword was beautifully made and engraved. It's sturdy, strong, and awesome. It even came with its own stand! Note that the sword does not come sharpened, but can be easily sharpened once you have it.

I got this sword as a graduation gift in 09 and i have to say this thing is very very verrryyyy heavy. no way she used this thing with one hand. No freaking way! I had to practice for about 4 months before i could hold it one handed without it hurting or causing me to use a lot of energy. The sword comes with a display and a wood sheath. The sheath broke after about 3 months of practice. I would say this sword is meant for display only lol. It's really hard to fight with but i am glad i gave it a try to tell those of u who would like to practice with it. over all it is a really awesome sword ^^

This is one of the best sword I got so far and only cost $60.00, I had brought sword that cost 3 times more and is nowhere near perfect as this one. For one is heavy and sharp, two is a thick piece of steel as hell, I can almost say all my sword even those that worth 3 times more ( cabon steel, stainless steel, carbon steel 1045 , 1060 all of them) and if I bang them together in a sword fight, this sword will break them all in half.
Definitely one of the best sword I got for its price, this sword prove to me sometimes price doesn't always means quality. In this case cheap price can still get you something very good while my other more expensive sword doesn't always equal better quality.

I just wonder if this is really the sword they use for the movie, cause I doubt it since it weight at least a good 8-10lbs

This can be a very nice gift for anyone, for the price and its look.

The only good thing about that crappy movie was her awesome sword. It totally steals the show. Unlike most of the replica swords, this one is much bigger than you expect. It's huge, sturdy, and is actually a great sword. The engraving is only on one side if you are wondering, and I love the thick scabbard it comes in too. Definitely one of my favorites, (the sword, not the movie) and at a great price.

This sword is a beautifull work of art. It is very detailed and rather large. it is also very heavy so there is no possibility of technical finesse. It feels like a large claymore and could do some serious damage in full swing, not that you would ever beat up such a beautifull sword. I ordered it on a friday and recieved it on a satarday. Less than 24 hours im not sure how thats even possible. anyway in closing, i dont want anyone to order this sword because i want to be the only person in the world to have one.

A blade that has me searching for imperfection and not one has been found. The handle side is light while the blade is HEAVY. Balance is ignored when you feel its comfortable grip and see the engravings and the matching sheath, also the sword dose not fall out of the sheath. Weather for display, fighting, or training the pre-sharpened, beatifully engraved masterpiece is sure to get the attention it deserves.

First off, as several people before have stated, this thing is a lot heavier that expected (no way Milla Jovovich is using this thing one handed). Over all is a beautiful sword and a nice buy for anyone that was a fan of the movie (I’m sure there’s a couple of them out there).
My biggest issue other than the weight is the sheath. It is basically just a shaped, hollow piece of wood that’s smoothly painted on the outside in black with the same symbols that are on the blade painted in silver. The real issue is the inside of it, with is just bare "wood", and with some kind of gooey, greasy stuff inside (not protected grease/oil for the blade). Every time I sheath the blade and then draw it, the blade is smudged with some kind of gray goo that needs to be wiped off or else it gets dry and crusty and it has a tendancy to get into the ingraved symbols on the blade. Over all though, its a beautiful display piece and comes with a simple, but very nice stand that can sit on a flat surface or be hung on a wall.

Also just so everyone is aware, the blade is not sharp, but then again I never expected it to be.

Very nice piece, resonably sharp...but the two best things about this sword is that it is fully custumizible, meaning...i took off the handle which was held together with two wooden pegs, the leather cord, and wood glue, but it fits perfectly with katana Tsuba, Tsuka, brass and everything.

On the other hand the engravings come blackened, but if you wipe to clean the blade the coloring goes away but still well visible.

Full tang, around 3 lbs. Makes no noise when cutting because of no blood groves...A-

Yes I agree the blade does look cool.

To those who want to remount the sword in nice fittings go for it, the sword is compatible with with katana guards and hilts and is single pegged, although the tang has much to be desired (rather short) I didn't expect it to be good.

To everyone else: Do not buy, even for a display this is a piece of.... well you know. For the price I expected a better display piece. The wooden stand the sword comes with is however of nice quality and is now supporting one of my other swords.
If only they had spent the money on the sword and not a display stand this piece may have been nice.

Now you ask why is this sword no good. Well to put it simply the sword is sharp and the handle is of ultra low quality that if not handled with caution will have you end up in a hospital getting your fingers or a toe re-attached.
The leather is slippery and is not fastened or even tied to the wooden handle. Double sided tape does not count......

An no I did not hurt myself on this disaster waiting to happen, i disassembled it.

Was not as described
When I took this one of the box I was excited when I punch you did I was rather disappointed it was not sharpened on all three sides like it was said it was actually quite dull not factory sharp . The metal on the blade seems pretty flimsy did not seem as thick or heavy as it was advertised also have the lettering on the blade is wiped off or came off I don't know but does not represent sword in picture I have a friend with the same sword and it a lot thicker , sharper and did not bend when you hit a thin tree branch . His is machete quality when this is utterly outrageous , I have ordered many times from budk but this one let me down . I should have listened to the comment that's first on the page
