Must Have Split A Whole Tree
I like to go camping and "survive" off the land. I brought this ax along with me and used only this to split enough firewood for a fire to burn 24/7 for a week. As I said in the header,I must have split a whole tree with this ax and it held up great and is ready for next year's trip. I had my doubts when I saw the ax but it blew my expectations out of the water, for the price especially. I could not ask for a better tool, thanks budk.

Got It FREE
BudK sent this complimentary hand ax. As an avid kayaker...this is a sturdy practical piece. A good all round cutting tool. I don't work for "THEM" either, but I would like to know what others received to complain about....it's just a good ax. It doesn't sharpen itself, go on a diet to loose weight,or clear a campsite by itself (no "AUTO" switch). Again...it's just a good ax.

Heavier then I expected
Yes, you will have to sharpen the blade. No big deal. It is heavier then I was expecting. Think it will be ok for spliting wood.

UGH! me chopem zombie
i purchased 2 of these hatchets and , what a great buy . good medium weight steel head , takes and holds an edge . fiberglass handle is strong and light . i drilled a hole in each for a lanyard i made from some camo 550 . i took both out back and laid into some soft maple fire wood (you do not want to be on the business end of these sharp S.O.B's) they hacked through it like paper machet . yet another great deal from budk . if and when the zombies come ,the safest place is behind me , cause i'm going to be a frigin quisnart ....

Great Camp Axe
Used it on my last 2 night camping trip. Does everything you want it to. You will want some sort of sheath or at least a cardboard cover, it is sharp, and takes and holds an edge real well. Really solid item.

Great for light work
We are very happy with our hatchet. Since we are getting older and don't have the strength we used to have we needed something a little lighter. This tool works perfect for the jobs we needed it to do. I'd recommend it to anyone for the lighter jobs in the country.

hatchet
have not had a chance to use the hatchets i bought. i sharpened them as they needed it, and they seem to be made well. if they stand up to heavy use they are a tremendous deal. i put one in each car and saved one for use around the house and shop. if the heads do not come loose and the handles hole up they are well worth the cost. big enough for chopping and the other side is wide enough for hammering stakes or what ever. recommended buy, but realize i have not used them yet. if the handle holds up and the steel is not so brittle it cracks or chips you will get your monies worth.

Great product
I just received these today and I was very surprised at how sturdy they are and being as I bought them in a 2 for 1 deal made them even better . The ONLY drawback is they arrive without a sharp edge but that is easily solved .

No doubt about it
This in my mind is an outstanding hatchet . Overall. However, its true the blade is dull and does come sheath less. But for only 14 bucks who could complain and the hatchet could always be sharpen I mean u have to do it sometime right. So this was so worth the buy, I personally bought two .. I recommend yes if your wondering on purchasing this hatchet take my word for it.

Black Legion Camping Hatchet
This is a superb axe. It is weighted just right for me. It's good for chopping and swinging! It does come with a rubber blade cover, though not a sheath. You will be pleased if you buy one. I bought two!

Black Savage Axe
Purchased this on a two for one deal and free shipping and received my order quickly. My uses of these axes one will be in my one day/36 hour field pack and one for my seven day to go bag. The weight, balance and feel are excellent and these replaces an old beat up wooden axe that deserves to be retired. Both units needed to be sharpened and design a quick carry slip-zip cord carry-all with pressure quick release. I have use one of these now on two back-to-back camping trips and this axe came in handy both times. Two for one makes the purchase price each less than $7.00 - can't beat a deal like that. Excellent product, well made and once sharpened stays sharp - a knife edge on my axes. As to recommending this products - already have...

Epic economical Axe
Just the right size, good balance. Little heavier than I imagined, but that is good also - for it bites hard, especially after using a little diesel or gas on a Lansky THE PUCK Dual Grit Tool Blade Knife Axe Ax Machete Sharpener. Will buy again later.

Fairly well
I like the feel on this ax the only down side it does not come sharp or with a belt looped case but I do like to use it when I am camping thank you BUDK.

black savage axe
this is good axe i took it out for camping and used it to chop of logs not as big (in diameter) as the picture shows but it is very durable and strong on impact, will recommend to anyone. the only bad thing is don't expect to be very sharp needs to be sharpened.

I really like the weight to this hatchet. It has a heavy head and durable handle. The blade is not sharp sharp at all though and it did not come with a case (I ended up making one with cardboard and duct tape). It is still pretty well constructed for 16 dollars...it just need some sharpening.

No-Go BoGo
Got two of these on a BoGo sale. They look good, but the handle is attached to the blade with what seems to be hot glue, and the metal head separates from the handle after a short amount of use. NOT a tool you want in a bug-out bag or any situation where a modicum of reliability is an issue. That said, you get what you pay for, and if you're expecting a quality item marketed as a "zombie apocalypse" tool - well ... there ya go.
