This Silver Vein Butterfly knife by Bear and Sons Cutlery is light and durable and a perfect fit for anyone! It features a 5” Damascus steel, hollow ground blade and Epoxy powder-coated handles. Each Bear & Son butterfly knife is handcrafted in the USA in Jacksonville, Alabama. 5” bl.
I have carried this knife for my entire adult life and hope to pass it on to my son or more likely grandson one day. It has seen use and abuse nearly every day for the last 17 years. The paint has worn, the action is loose, but it still takes a sharper edge than any other blade I own. While most people disdain the butterfly as a show off knife with no utility I contend that it is the simplest, most rugged, most dependable one handed opening knife there is. At 17 it was fun to flip around and show off. At 34 it opens so effortlessly and discretely that most people don't realize it is a butterfly until I close it. The damascus holds a great edge. Be sure to clean it if used to cut anything acidic to prevent rusting.

Solid
Although I was told that this isn't the knife for flipping because of the Damascus steel this knife isn't a small light knife
It was actually heavier than expected but I like that
The thickness of the blade also surprised me
I hope these stamp pins hold together though
Overall for my first balisong this is nice
However if you're a first time balisong buyer go with the plain steel first then get this one

decent knife
good price, decent knife. may feel a bit heavy when flipping and the blade bites when it cuts. latch gets in the way when closing too fast and if you're not paying attention the blade will smash against it and stuff gets nicked. the zinc handles WILL break if you drop this too much on hard ground/floor (I had about a few dozen drops from a few feet up onto hard linoleum and concrete and one of the handles broke)

Better than most
Very smooth action. Sharp, beautifully crafted blade. The handle catch has no spring, but that is easily remedied with a small o ring. Smaller than the other Bear Cutlery knife I have but handy and pocketable. Mine lives latched in the kitchen drawer. It will rust if left in the dishwasher.
