Offering optimum performance at a bottom-line price, the Avalanche® Trail Blazer 150-lb Crossbow features a machined aluminum frame with a tough fiberglass limb and a wooden, rifle-style stock. The 11" power stroke with a 150-lb draw weight delivers arrow speeds of up to 210 feet per second with a 16" aluminum bolt. Hit your target with precision accuracy using the built-in adjustable sights. This crossbow also includes a mounting rail for adding a scope or red-dot sight. Includes two aluminum bolts.
I was very pleased with the gas mask, and it comes with a new old stock filter. I would recommend for anyone preparing for the worst. Get some to protect your family.

3 years later still going strong
Just an update from my previous review, this crossbow has taken 3 years of abuse and is still going with the original string and limb. I cannot say how many hundreds of shots this thing has fired, but 500 would not be much of an exaggeration. The front limb did work itself loose over time even with loctite, sending arrows 2 feet off target. A simple re adjustment fixed the issue and its back on target. I have since graduated to a more expensive and fancy crossbow but this one is a work horse for sure, IF set up properly. You need a stringer cable to string this bow. With an extra limb and extra strings this is perhaps a better survival option than the compound versions, one could argue. I certainly dont recommend it, but this thing will fire just about any bolt you can fashion from 6" nubs to 22" harpoons. Trigger is all metal which is an added bonus. The are a few cons like the sights for example, but the receiver is compatible with dovetail mounts so a scope is no problem, and it just looks awesome with a scope. If you are looking to get into crossbows, this is a great entry point and delivers a lot of fun for your investment.

Great bow for the money!
I have used this crossbow to target practice with but I haven't hunted with it yet.It is accurate and very powerful .If I was strong enough to drag a deer out of the woods after I shot it I wouldn't hesitate to use this to hunt with. The only drawback in this weapon is its very difficult to string.

A very good bow,but hard to string.
Rifle was real nice.Everything else was good with the weapon except when i was trying to string it,i used a strap with a crank and when i pulled back to get the string on,the bow had split in half on one side. I thought that was it for the bow,i was going to throw it in the trash can. One day while cleaning the garage,i found the bow and looked at it. A ideal came to mind. I took the bow and used some glue called sticky jack glue(any good strong glue will do)to glue the bow back together.I let it dry for 3days and then i sanded the glue down and took electrical tape and rapped the whole bow tightly. I put a light glue over that and taped it again.I let that dry for 4-5 days.when i went to check it out, the bow was stronger than what i thought it was going to be.The wood stock was bent, and i couldn't get it to bend back straight,so i cut it off.I then tried to shot a couple of bolts to test it out and the gun shoots like i never had any problems with it. I think i'll use it as a target rifle. It a great crossbow for the price. I'm so glad i kept it and didn't throw it away.Next time,i'll watch how i string it.

well worth the money
surprised w construction quality, especially the excellent trigger; it is a multi-component all metal trigger system and has a long (safe), and linear force trigger comparable to a good double-action revolver. I had another brand crossbow at this price and the trigger was all plastic, including the safety latch. The only criticism is that it should be packed w a cocking rope device- you will need one, but for the price...

One handsome crossbow.
If you're anything like me, you can't stand all this "tacticool" sh*t, and would take a wood-stock rifle any day of the week. This crossbow is no exception, and is a gorgeous, classic looking crossbow in a sea of skeletal synthetic compound bows and crossbows.

Nice crossbow
I really like it, but I had to get 20” carbon bolts for it because the bolts that came with it made it inaccurate- meaning it shot about 12” above the target due to the fact that they are a lot shorter.

A very nice crossbow for the price.
I wanted to buy a crossbow just for shooting targets and this crossbow is perfect for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with fairly useless instructions, other than that the bow itself is just great.

A really great Crossbow.
I just put this bow together and i was very impressed with it. I love the wood stock on it ,and it makes the bow have class.I love to find new and different weapons to add to my arsenal (of wonderful toys),i just find this crossbow great. Iv'e shot it about five times and it has alot of power. I will let you know my findings on it,at a later time. For the price, this is a good crossbow. Ronn ''Manchu''Shaw.

Best bargain ever!!!
This is one awsome looking and functioning crossbow, i paid the sale price of 59.98 and it was the best 60 bucks i ever spent. I put an old crosman centerpoint 3x9x40 scope on it that is good anywhere between 5yrds out to 200yrds and i know with that scope i can take out anything out to 60yrds and not even worry about a miss. Also put a bipod on it just for more fun.I saw a reviewer state that a cocking rope does not work on this crossbow, that is totally wrong. The maker should have put the "groove" in place to make it easier to keep the rope in line but all you have to do is carefully place the rope where it belongs and tilt the crossbow at about a 30 degree angle towards your body and pull in such a way that your handles stay BELOW the rail. If you pull with the handles above the rail of course you will keep pulling the string out of the catch where it is supposed to be. If you do it the way i do you will never have a problem. Also, if you feel the need, you could just use a small round file and carefully form your own groove, just a little bit is enough and there is enough room on the piece to not do any damage. I also bought 20" carbon arrows and wow what a shooter this bow is. Keep the string waxed and rail lubed after every 20 shots or so and you are good to go. Could not ask for a better buy not to mention all the fun. Thanks budk i think i will buy another one.

nice product
This is a lot of crossbow for the price, but make sure you use carbon arrows because this thing is way too powerful for the aluminum ones it comes with. Helpful hints: you need a stringer cable to string the bow.. I made one out of paracord, but it would be better to buy one. put electrical tape at the end of the limbs where the the string caps go, then put the caps over the taped portion, this will make them last longer. Then, twist the string four complete rotations to tighten up the strands, then wax it with bow wax or snowboard wax. I find the blue ski wax rated for colder temps to be best. Once the string is waxed up and twisted it should be rock solid. Get it strung, then take steel wool and polish the flight rail, mine had a few rough spots and the steel wool buffed it down to a smooth finish. Then take your wax and wax the flight rail (where the arrow sits) I would buff the inner rail as well so you dont hurt the arrow fletching. I was amazed at how well ski wax stayed on the rail without leaving residue. My string has lasted well over 100 shots and is still going strong with this method. Also, remove the front and rear sights and get a scope or a red dot on there. The receiver has an integrated dovetail (not weaver) mount so you can use dovetail rings or buy a dovetail to picatinny adapter. The sights on mine did not hold zero but i was planning on removing them anyway. This thing has tons of power and can be cocked by hand if you have a strong back and tactical gloves. Using my set up technique I am now hitting a tight group and have actually hit one arrow with another, shredding the nock. An Amazing item at this price point and capable of taking most game in America, large or small.

Purchased two
Got one for my son-in-law and one for me. Lots of fun! You need to be a gorilla to get it strung, but after that the fun begins! Good quality, attractive wood. Can't go wrong buying this.

Perfect for beginners and amateurs
My father taught me at 5 yrs old to use a bow and arrow
Before a gun. I did the same
For my daughters. I was injured in Iraq and I can only use a crossbow. My 17 yr old wanted a crossbow, so I got her this one, she loved it and perfected it enough that she asked to hunt opening day of bow season with it. She shot a 130lb doe 30 mins after getting on stand. 35' shot quartering away, lung/heart shot. Awesome for the price.
The accuracy is similarly as close to my Ten Point.

Avalanche Rifle stock 150lb Crossbow
Absolutlely love my crossbow. Shipped very quickly. Great quality for the price. Sacrificed my first two bolts just to shoot it. One issue seems that it says it needs 16" bolts but i think it came with 14" bolts. Reason being the new ones i got dont fit in the original package. Other than that it will still function great and its a wonderful product. Thank you BudK for being brilliantly excellent. 5 star product.

Beast!
This xbow is a BEAST! super sturdy and built to to withstand. Super hard to string for me personally, I'm only 5'3 110 lbs. once strung I have been very happy with my purchase and it came in within a week or two of ordering. Very happy with all of my purchases from BudK

BudK wood pistol grip crossbow
An excellent weapon at a very affordable price. I use it as both a trapline dispatch weapon and for small and big game hunting and it hasn't let me down yet! Excellent product BudK!

The pistol grip is even better
What kind of a crazy person would want a full size crossbow with a pistol grip? ME! And who can you buy such a thing from? ONLY BUDK! I have been looking for a crossbow like this for a long time. I like unusual things and this qualifies as most cool. It is a centerpiece of my collection and always gains the interest of visitors. I'm going to get the foldable version next.

Pretty Good Deal 3.5 STARS
I RECEIVED MY CROSSBOW AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO PUT IT TOGETHER. THE BOW WAS VERY HARD TO STRING AND i HAD TO GO TO AN ARCHERY SHOP AND PAY TO HAVE IT DONE.
ALSO WHILE ASSEMBLING THE BOW, THE REAR SIGHT FELL APART. I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE A SPARE SIGHT IN MY PARTS BOX SO WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE PART AND GET ON WITH SHOOTING.
USING A ROPE COCKER, GOT THE BOW COCKED AND FIRED THE BOLT AT THE TARGET. THE BOLT WENT THROUGH AN ARCHERY BALE TARGET AND INTO A PIECE OF PLYWOOD BACKING.
i SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM USING THIS BOW TO TAKE A DEER THIS YEAR IF I DO MY PART
BECAUSE IT DID NOT COME WITH MORE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS AND THE PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SIGHT I GIVE THIS 3.5STARS
