I bought one of these 20 plus years ago at a med fair, gave it to a chick a few years later. This is the exact same knife. Awesome, beautiful, battle worthy, the handle is solid. The sheath is eh. I love this knife. It's balanced dude, for twenty bucks. Not all Pakistan blades are garbage. Somebody got it right and just kept churning them out.

I am happy to add this knife to my collection. The quality of this knife exceeds the cost by quite a bit. The blade was without a blemish and nicely polished. The hilt was well fitted and showed only minor tool marks. I didn't like the lanyard loop and considered grinding it off all together but changed my mind after a search of the internet revealed that this was a standard feature of the Khyber Knife. Instead, I reshaped it to be less conspicuous but still functional. The functionality of the knife is not an issue as it will only be on display.

Interesting knife
I just received this knife and it seems solid and sharp. Worth every penny. The handle scales were cut flat on the butt of handle which was poor craftsmanship But,... overall the rest of the Knife is Quite Good.

Beautiful knife, fairly sharp out of box, only took five minute to give it a razor edge

sharp
love the look of this knife. came very sharp and in pristine condition. no complaints. feels good in the hand. like a large kitchen knife on steroids. I was impressed. the sheath was so so, but not the reason I bought two of these.

Color me impressed.
This knife blew me away when I got it. I bought it at first 'cuz it was cheap as dirt and looked awesome, but I wasn't anticipating that it'd actually be a death-defyingly resilient blade. There came a point where I just decided to start using this thing as an oversized throwing knife, most of the time I missed or it bounced off the tree, slamming into rocks, vibrating loudly whenever it made an impact. Eventually after this repeated rough treatment the handle pegs began to come loose. I tried to finish the job by beating the handle on cement, no luck, tried harder, and then my hardest with still no luck. I beat the ever-loving CRAP out of this knife and it refused to die, smashing this thing against cement with all my strength did almost nothing until eventually the handle began to come apart, but even then I had to use pliers to rip out the stubborn pegs. I still own the knife, sanded off all the rough edges and made it into a spear. This is a knife that'll survive the apocalypse. Buy it.

Kill all zombies.
As always the shipping time was great. 5 days! I received it today and it was better than the reviews others have posted. Sharp, but can use a touch up. The sheath could be better, but is better than ok. I twill wall make a nice wall hanger and super nice zombie killer. Worth 3 times the money. And free shipping sealed the deal.

Great blade for price
I love this blade! The only one I hold in higher esteem is my Lakonia from Atlanta Cutlery. The sheath is a simple, sewn-leather sheath that is alright, though I wished I had one that had a more flexible hanging style. The blade feels great in my hand but when "use" tested against compressed cardboard my hand would slide up to the guard every time on the thrust. It's penetration and slash quality was, surprisingly, only average. I expected the slash to be weak because of blade style, but really did expect better penetration. Wonder if he slick handle stole power from the thrust much like blade flexion does? It is heavy enough for field use even though there are styles better suited to such. My buds even liked this blade though they did not like the lanyard "knob" at the end of the hilt - they preferred a flatter pommel for a hammering surface for breaking bones while skinning animals. Even though its performance test was only average its weight, solidness, and "feel" make it a "steal" at $25 dollars.

Khyber Bowie
I have seen this knife/ sword in the catalog for a while now and wanted to purchase it but being unsure of the quality, I hesitated... until a friend wanted me to make a sheath for a knife that he owned. when I saw the knife ... it was the Khyber bowie and I was very impressed with it at once. I went to my computer , then to my favorites which bud- k is at the top of my list and to my amazement... there was the Khyber bowie, listed as buy one - get one. so there I was, facing an army of the undead... I charged at them at once, a battle cry echoing throughout the rugged mountain pass, I hacked and sliced as I continued forward leaving a bloody path of severed heads and limbs in my wake, a blood stained Khyber bowie in each hand. as that movie played out in my mind, I placed my order immediately. when my order arrived, I was very pleased with the quality and rugged feel in my hand. my friends at bud-k came through once again. there were a few occasions where I was tempted to give one away, then quickly decided against it... I just may need them both , I just may need to get through yet one more mountain pass. now... if I only had the m-48 tomahawk... a smile crept to my lips as I see the carnage left behind in my wake. THANK YOU BUD-K... YOU GUYS ROCK !!!

Good knife for the money. Fit and finish are very good. If this knife were any longer it would be a sword. The sheath is not the best but is serviceable. Another fairly priced product from budk.

After initial cleaning the knife is perfect.
For all it's size, the knife is incredibly light, it takes and holds an edge better than any other knife in stainless i've run into, so I can''t help but wonder it it's really stainless. The shealth was the disappointment, i bought it as a bargain knife and the sheath was make of poor, thin material and was already split in the back. The knife looked scuffed, but it turns out there was just some kind of lubricant stuck to the blade and after cleaning it up, the blade was flawless. If ypu had a big skinning job to do, this might come in handy, as sharp as it is. One star off for the bad sheath. I hope better sheaths will become available as replacements. As inexpensive as the knife was, I wouldn't mind paying for a replacement sheath.

Nostalgic Knife
I have been to the khyber pass and have seen knives similar in design there. I was really pleased with both of mine and will probably get two more as gifts for close friends. I found mine to both be very well built for the price and I recommend them to anyone who wants a more unique decorative knife to get others attention.

Almost perfect
As a collector of edged weapons & a student of martial arts, I had purchased one ten years ago at a local knife shop which is no longer in business now. Recently I saw the Khyber Bowie advertised in the Bud K catalog and had to buy a second one, the reason being I began training in a two handed blade style and the first knife had such a good balance to it it felt perfect for the moves, the only change made was to have the scales checkered to improve the grip. When I recieved my purchase I was both amazed and dismayed, the knife was a near enough match in apperance, but unfortunetly the thickness of the blade was much thinner than the original, thus throwing off the feel and balence of the knife for what my intended use was, but all in all the knife was still an excellent knife to have. It still looks good, holds it's edge well, makes an impressive camp cooking knife, not overly bad as a skinning knife either.

Two steps from finished
I loved this right out of the box, it's solid, the handles are highly polished ABS, and the pinning was neatly done. It needed a new edge entirely (on both of them that I bought) so I re-sharpened it and rounded the handle's edges off, did away with the shine and the loop on the back, re-sealed the lot and voila, a knife how it ought to have shipped in 15 minutes. Worth a buy, I love them.

Kyber Bowie
The only problem with the knife is that the sharpening process was not finished. One side is rough! Otherwise I like the knife!

Khyber Bowie
The Khyber knife is an amazing historical knife. This isn't a bad replica of a knife used from the Khyber pass in north Africa all the way to India. The long splendor blade is beautifully done. The handle is comfortable and correct.I recommend this knife to anyone that likes historical knifes.Thank you once again BudK.Your faithfull friend Daniel Voges.

Nice knife, but.
Arrived on time, expressed with knife, full tang, fitted very well, not a bad sheath after working it and nice know, balanced, very soft steel, doesn't hold edge very long, arrived with marks on hilt and blade but polished them out, overall pretty well made Pakistan made knife. Just soft steel.

you get what you pay for
you get what you pay for in this regard. the knife had many imperfections. the guard had a gouge on it,the blade is slightly bent, several scuff marks on the knife, that being said, it is a $15.00. knife. not really meant to be a collectors piece. gonna use it for what it is a general work/beater knife. got what I paid for.

khyber bowie
This is a good site to buy from, I got this on a buy one get one free day and they both came in within a good time frame and in good shape. they did need a little tune up to make them sharp but that's to be expected from an inexpensive knife. I think the aus-6 stainless steel that make the blade is a little to hard. It took a little to long to get an edge on. however, that said, BUD-K had great shipping and a good product for the price on the BOGO sale. Keep you're powder dry and you're knife sharp. Mike.

Poorly made
The blade is covered in scuffs right out of the box and the steel feels cheap. The black composite handle also feels odd in the hand. I should have gotten the other Khyber when it was available.

A little disappointed
This site has been a great hobby go-to for me, and will continue to be, but this purchase left a lot to be desired. I got my Khyber in the mail today, and am a little upset. The blade is scuffed and scratched in multiple places, the wood on the hilt is spiderweb cracked at every handle peg, and the knocker on the end of the hilt looks like someone put it to a grinder wheel on one side. I really love the look of this blade, just wish someone had inspected it before shipping it out to me.
