Bought this and took it camping and hiking. Everyone liked it and were surprised when they saw the price. All were ordering at least one for our next camping and hiking trip.

Well worth the price. Came sharp and no problems with knife or sheath. A plus knife for price my thoughts. Great gift knife for holidays or for hiking/camping why I purchased it. All my relatives and camping friends liked it right away. Quality is much higher than price with this knife and sheath. I was very surprised at the knifes quality. Very happy with this purchase from BUD K!

For Christmas I got one for myself and 3 more for some of my buddies with their gamertags engraved on the blade. They turned out extremely well and they absolutely loved them! Would highly recommend to anyone!

I love the knife and all the cool little stuff it came with, it's a sweet survival knife but it was dull and I will have to sharpen it but other then that I am happy with my purchase.

As a collector of many many weapons I am always sceptical of anything less that 20$ and is used for any kind of defense if needed,.....but I was wrong this is worth the buy I would actually suggest it.... only thing I'd change is the chord wrapping which I did.... 550 chord works great and gives the knife a meatier look...

So I got this gift for my boyfriend at the time, he loves his sharp objects and this became his favorite knife! It's nicely weighted and balanced with all the stuff it says it came with. Really sharp when it came out of the package too. 10 out of 10

I think this knife is great. when I bought it I thought it wouldn't last long but I have used it and used it. BUDK has a lot of great knives and this is one of them. if I was to make a list if good knives this would at the top of the list with cold steel knives. This is the best knife I have bought online, Thank you BUDK

I bought this knife a few days ago, and it was delivered 2 days later! The quality of the knife is excellent, especially considering the price. The only downside of the knife is that it is a little dull when I received it.

This is a great knife. This blade could seriously injure someone. It would be good for tactical uses or self defense. It came very sharp! I can even use it like a machete or throw it into wood and it sticks! It has stayed sharp and the survival kit inside is great. My only complaint is the compass. It spins a lot, but it is usually about right, BUT I give this 5 stars because thats not why I bought this. I love this knife. Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH BUDK!

I have one and used it for the last 9 months; camping, fishing, and during a 72 hour survival training exercise. It works good around camp, slicing up meat and wood with the same ease. Great for the price. You have to be careful of how you use knives. They ARE NOT WOOD SAWS!

I ordered two of these. Got them both in about 4 days. Right out of the box they were razor sharp. I keep one in a bug-out bag and the other in our camping supplies. After chopping up a little bit of fire kindling on a camping trip it still sliced through some rope like it was even there. I will be ordering some more for gift giving. These knives are both scary sharp.

The "Amazon Jungle Survival Knife" is the most coolest saw back Knife I have every seen. Well, and the Rambo bowie knife. When I saw this knife in the catalog I had to have it. The price was very good for the handcrafted work of this knife. the handle is a little loose with the blade, but it stays in place. The kit in the handle is good for what it is. The Knife was more better then i thought it would be, I guess I did good for my first BUDK purchase. I will order from this site again. Its Awesome haha. Thanks Budk! XD

I bought the Amazon Jungle Knife as my first purchase from BUDK,and the shiping was OK. When I opened the retail box I was blown away! When I choped down some small saplings with it,that did it~I'm going to buy 2 more! The sheath is very good, and the knife is REALLY powerful and comfortable, and the blade is HARD stainless steel. The kit in the handle is cool, too. Thanks BUDK,I'll order again!

I bought three of these knives, 2 were gifts for my sons and 1 was for me... I bought them because of the price and the great reviews that they were getting... These knives are an exception value for the money. I don't believe in spending an arm and a leg on a knife that is going to be used in the outdoors and getting beat up or even lost. They come with a pretty good edge on them too, Thanks BudK

This is a great knife for $13. It is pretty durable even after hunting with it and cutting branches. I really like the survival kit inside, and I imagine you could store other things also. The sheath falls apart just a little bit, and the compass doesn't work but those are the only things wrong. It is a good bowie knife!

This knife was great, razor sharp and the point was able to stab through a 1 and 1/2 inch thick piece of wood. I wasn't very surprised at the quality because almost all of BUDK's products are great. The only thing that I didn't like about this knife is the survival kit in the handle is about the size of a bottle of chap stick. The kit has fishing equipment, matches, and striking pads for the matches. The is great for such a low price. Thank you to everybody at BUDK for making such great quality knives.

Got the knife and was thinking that it would be cheap and not made well. But I surprised that after only a few passes on a wet stone it became razor sharp. Really like the looks and the simplicity of it. Can't wait to take it to along on some camping trips on the river this year, Really my only dislike was the handle. A little to small compared to the blade but overall its a great knife.

I've been a long-time fan of the Rambo movies, but I could never bring myself to spend $100.00+ on one of the movie knives. However, for 13 bucks, this blade happily fills that collector's slot without draining my wallet. That's why I bought it, and it serves that function well. Five Stars.

I saw the knives on the on line catalog and thought I would give them a try. I bought 2 of these knives and am glad that I did. They are just as nice as any knife I have bought in the past for up to almost 10 the price. Very good knives. Thank you BUDK!!!!

As always as soon as I get my knife they put the knife on their catalog and allot of reviews come pouring in, but whatever. This knife is great I love the thickness and the twine handle. The knife would be worth the 13 bucks even without the survival kit or the compass on it. Its absolutely beautiful also very sharp. The survival kit is...okay I like it but everything in it is small and tightly packed. I like it mainly for the knife but if you are in it for the survival gear i recommend the bushmaster, but I'm writing a review in it also.

Knife is great, came sharp but had a small chip out of the edge. The sheath had a hole in it because the knife got put in backwards, cutting the stitching. And lastly the compass doesn’t work, at all. But like I said the knife itself was worth the money.

Got this knife and had to immediately put a razor sharp edge on it. Have used it to process some poles for tarp camping and to hold my campfire grate.

(4 out of 5)
My overall response to the knife was positive. As other reviewers have stated, its weight and balance are excellent and the feel of the wrap on the knife's handle is both comfortable and secure. The only negative for me was the condition of the blade: duller than a butter knife. It took some 50 passes on the first, rarely required first stage of my electric sharpener to create some semblance of a blade edge on the knife. It took another 50 or 60 double pulls through the second and third stages of the sharpener before the knife was in an acceptably sharp state. In my opinion, that is far too much work to have to put into a brand new knife and makes me concerned about the manufacturer's production standards and quality control. It also required deduction of the fifth star, which the knife would have merited if it had been in its current state when I opened its box.

Its not ideal for chopping. The handle tends to roll in your hand but other than that its pretty nice for only $13

I didn't expect much from this, but this is a nice knife. Very sharp point, good saw, and a naturally sharp blade. I like the compass and the survival stuff as well. The only issue with the knife is the weight near the top of the handle that may make it a little awkward to handle, however, overall, this is a great purchase. The sheath is also really nice

I ordered this knife on a Saturday or Sunday came to me in Ohio on Thursday. I got it shipped to my door with my initials for $25. I sprayed some Rem oil on the blade to give it a little bit of a shine. If you wear it on your right side it is very easy to undo the strap on the sheath with your thumb for quick easy access. This is the first time ordered from budk.com. I will diffidently order from them again. My package also included two small budk magazines.

They must have updated the structure of this knife because not many people liked it but mine works great I used it for a while and It still works awesome however I gave it four stars because the handle is small The sheath was pretty nice too

It is a great knife but the sheath is not real leather. The blade on mine had some wobble to it and eventually slipped out. But it wasnt anything that a little jb weld could'nt fix.

Really good and sharp knife, would recomend this to anybody lookin for a good survival bowie. Couldnt give this item 5 stars because the compass did not work when i got it. All in all awesome knife!!

The Jungle Survival Knife has nice weight and balance but the only drawback is the handle is very small for my grip.

This bowie is scary AND awesome. It's SCARYSOME. As a very picky weapon collector, I only get the great stuff. I put my weapons through a lot before I give them the OK, and this one passed. I hacked through a thick branch with one swipe EFFORTLESSLY. I would have liked it to have some type of tinder, and I wish it were scary sharp, which is how I like everything with an edge. overall, it is a good knife.

I bought this knife to take on camping trips. I bought this knife when BUDK offered penny shipping. Cost of knife and shipping was $13.00. This knife came with no problems. It was sharp and the handle was tight. The only problem was the sheath. It is not real leather as stated. It also has a petroleum smell that hasn't gone away yet. I think it was worth the price paid.

very nice knife over all, the fishing hook is decent, the matches light on the first try and the compass is accurate. The only bad part about this knife is that the blade can become loose, for me i get annoyed by this but besides that a good knife.

I thought this knife was pretty good, came with a survival kit, which wasn't much but ok. They could have done a better job on the handle because it was a little too small and slim, the blade is constructed well and is durable but not as sharp as expected. Overall 4/5, only disadvantage being the small handle.

Just got this today. Here are my pros and cons. Pros: Comes pretty sharp, right out of the box. Watertight compartment and survival kit is nice(I added a cotton ball to stop it from rattling around and also as a backup fire starter] Grip sturdier than I thought it would be Price Nice shape to knife. Excellent box Cons: Rat tail tang Blade is not as big as i least mine wasn't. Flat wasn't wide. Steel had to be cleaned

Knife was actually much bigger and much better quality then i expected. Very sharp, very light, overall a great knife. However, the sheath was not that great. the clasp that holds the knife in does NOT secure. but besides that you really can't go wrong for the money.

This knife is very sturdy and solid. It has good feel other then for the handle. It feels like its for one of those old GIJOE figures that have the hole in their fists. Not made for a hand, just needs to be build for a hand and it can be amazing. I recommend it.

the knife is very nice ! needs a little longer handelabout 2 inches. also could be balanced more, if you wanted to throw it at some thing or animal.. Also my compass didn't work.. but 12.99 is good buy

It's a pretty sturdy knife, and pretty nice. The design is cool, and the only downside is the sheath. I had to sharpen it too, as it wasn't too sharp. cool little survival kit, but the compass sucks. Otherwise, extremely dependable!

I was very impressed with the size of the knife. However when looking at the compus, I noticed no fluid inside and it didn't move at all. Other than that, it's great. Hope mine does not separate from the handle.

This knife is great I just got it and the little survival kit is very handy. The blade does come sharp, but not razor sharp and the saw back on it is kinda useless, but other than that it is great.

Don't brave the jungle without this knife! If you do your probly going to die,get lost,be cold, and hungrey.. I am going to try pooring some JB weld down the tube to keep this knife from falling apart wish me luck...

It was alright but after the fifth use of using it. I am an outdoors men and I would like to have a heaver and a stronger knife design or pattern. I would like it to have a military stranded for a knife it should be able to take a beating like a military knife should be like.

I bought 2 for my kids and then bought one for myself. It is a decent knife for the price. The survival kit is nice and you can swap out for what you want. I added in a Vaseline soaked cotton ball for a fire starter and underneath the kit tube. The knives are pretty dull and need to be sharpened. The sawback edge is a bit wide and make it it hard to cut with. My handle has a very tiny wiggle to it after some use in striping some branches, but not enough to be concerned with. For the price it's worth having one in your knife collection.

(3 out of 5)
This knife is very sick but its not what i thought it was cut out to be. I finally took it out and put it to the test, 10 minutes later the blade fell completely off. Even thought a little solder fixed it it right up, its just the fact that i had to put a little work into keeping it a functional knife. Other than those problems very worth buying for the asking price.

I thought the the product was ok quality because the blade is very loose but not that bad for the for the great price. another thing is that the shipping took way moor than 10 days. I would still recomend it.

It's a great knife for the price you pay. Very easily sharpened. I ordered two of these when they were on sale. Unfortunately the compass on both the knives were broken. Here's to hoping the handle doesn't separate from the blade like with the other reviews.

This knife was great straight out of the package, but after having it for quite some time now I became disappointed. The blade came right out of the handle and the compass broke. I thought that the knife problem could be solved by just welding it back but I guess not. The handle is made out of aluminum and the blade out of steel. If they could've made the blade and handle out of the same material and actually made it one piece of metal, than it would be a much better knife. I have to say, I was excited when it came in the mail, but after it broke, I was pretty angry. I have to say, I was not impressed.
Aug 17, 2011
(3 out of 5)
I think this would be a great knife if the blade was properly fastened. I did a little work with mine and the blade came off. It looks great and the saw seems to work pretty well. The blade on mine was just shoved into the handle with nothing to hold it in place. I should be able to fix in myself.

The survival bowie, alright first off the knife looks great feels good in the hand, the handle is a little thin for my taste but it's alright, the kit inside, if anyone has gotten a survival knife from this site, you know the kit inside is a joke, you need to make a kit yourself for your preferences and taste. I won't go on about the kit inside it needs to be replaced not a big deal. I wouldn't rely on someone packing my bags for me for a trip, same goes for my blade. The inside compartment is tiny there is a small plastic tube that holds the contents inside a small cavity this one is a smaller cavity than the black, survival knife sold here, a small let down, i was hoping for something larger than the other mentioned knives. The blade is thick and sturdy the sawback is not really that functional but looks great, the blade is not sharp by any means. I thought this was strange because i have ordered tons of knives from this site they all were Razor this one is not. This thing looks awesome on rambo.

Ok. I got 2 of these because they wind up being only $12.00 each. But, they're both supposed to come with a little survival kit in the handle. 2 of the things that were supposed to be in the kit? Were not. The matches and the the thing to strike the matches on. And, unfortunately, that's probably the case with all of these knives. It was the case with both of mine. Very disappointed.

When I first got the knife it seemed pretty cool. But as soon as i went outside with it and used it the blade fell off!!! Yeah I got what I paid for. I would recommend just spending extra money on getting a better quality knife.

This is a decent blade though offset. I'm not sure if that was intended. The compass on the end of mine doesn't move at all. The sawback is also very wide, i tried to cut a 1" branch and it took around 8mins. The knife handle is good. The tip of the knife bent after poking 2 sides of a beer can. the thing i like the most about this knife is the room you have to store things in it. Overall its an ok knife the price is the best thing about it. Budk has many better knives to choose from, if it came down to it this would be my beater.

This knife is cheap. If you want a knife for looks and no heavy use at all, this is good. But I wanted a knife that could handle cutting down branches and making bows. I saw this knife and thought it was awesome because of the price. But here are the problems: The serrated edge is for looks, it has no sharp edge to it. The blade and handle are not one solid piece of metal. So eventually the blade will get loose then fall off. The knife didn't come sharp, which isn't a huge problem if you know how to sharpen it, but still... When I received it the plastic covering the compass was broken in half. So with all of those things seen it was a no brainer to send it back. DO WHAT I SHOULD have done. INVEST in a good knife. This website has a lot of other good knives, I would advise to buy a knife more then $30 and read the reviews. I hope this was helpful.

I bought a pair of these for improved value. I didn't expect much from them, but somehow the first one I tried managed to fall short of even my modest expectations. After a few simple chops into a pine 2x4, which even most of my cheap folding knives could endure, the blade began to loosen from the handle. This knife holds itself together not by a bolt, or even by glue, but merely by friction. If you want to get one as a display, go right ahead. The survival kit isn't exactly worthless, either, so if you want a replacement for a higher-quality Rambo knife that you lost the kit for, maybe it's worth the $24 to get a pair. But I wouldn't even use them as movie props if the blades were left totally blunt. These knives are not remotely safe for use in any environment by the inherent nature of their design. And the scary part is, the blade itself can actually take a REALLY sharp edge. So if that goes flying and hits someone, I can guarantee that they will be harmed, possibly even killed. Don't buy this knife if you plan to actually use it. If you want a hollow-handled survival knife that you can actually use, get yourself a Schrade, or something else that either has a bolt securing the blade, or actually makes the blade and handle from the same material. It's worth the extra money.
As for me, I'll be keeping one as a display, and salvage the sheath from the other for another knife whose sheath degraded. But for your own sake, do NOT use this. It really shouldn't even be advertised on this site at all.
Response: I apologize, you are not satisfied with the item. We will reach out to you to get this resolved.

What's looking for an inexpensive survival knife. And that's exactly what it is. You get what you pay for. The handle tends to roll in your hand and the blade chipped. So I sharpen the knife and tried again. I was putting a point on a 1-inch branch and the blade came off the handle. BUDK was nice enough to fix the issue with a refund no questions asked.

I bought 3 of these knives one for me and one each for my son and daughter. After just a little bit of use just feathering tinder all three blades came loose from the handles. Now they wiggle and rattle. I bought a bunch of knives from them and these are the worst that I have got.
